Adele says she won't reach EGOT status because she hates musicals

During her appearance on the final "Carpool Karaoke" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," Adele was asked whether she has any plans to try and win a Tony to achieve EGOT status.

"I really don't think that that is ever gonna happen. I would never write a musical or anything like that because I ****ing hate musicals. I f_cking hate musicals. I don't think I've ever said how much I f_cking hate musicals."

Corden then clarified that Adele does "respect" the art form of musicals.

Adele added: "Absolutely. I just don't need to hear everything in f_cking song all the time. I also think the EGO suits me better."

It’s not even trying to cater to people though. She just seems stuck up af. Billie has the idgaf attitude, but it doesn’t come off as she thinks she is better than everyone. She just doesn’t take fame as seriously. Adele is just… ugh these days

She's literally saying she doesn't think that is ever happening.
I think we are misinterpreting what she means - she first says she does not see it ever happening and then adds that she hates musicals to start with, to ever even try to compete for that award.

there is a culture of people (especially in the lgbt community which obv does not apply here) who think not liking musicals is a personality trait

i can't imagine having such a strong opinion on musicals of all things. you dont see people so dramatically hating on sci-fi films or any other genre as if the world will end if they dont voice their opinion

adele could also win a tony for being in a spoken word play. tonys arent all about musicals even if they usually catch the most attention.
