Am I the only one who still enjoys ARTPOP without all the pretentiousness around it? I mean, it's an album

Yep, some good tracks on there, some duds but it’s still a good pop album.

It’s just a nice pop album, it was never as groundbreaking as hyped or deep as some fans make it out to be.  It’s literally just an album.

I remember living through this era, but there are so many little gems of knowledge about it I'd forgotten (such as the last minute single switcheroo with Venus and DWYW)

Well maybe you’re just a person. Not a pop star, just a regular slob like one of us.

This is so… not talking good about ARTPOP, is more calling it a failure than anything else.. he’s also pretty much bashing her when he’s talking about her work with Kendrick and Azealia

He also went on to criticize Aura by saying how she had to removed the word Burqa and just used it once during the song, when in reality she says it twice.

Just a horrible video with a horrible pretentious narrator :billie:

Did you watch this video in full length? Or did you skip through it? Because there's no way you watched that video in its entirety and came up with the weird conclusion that he was bashing gaga.

I just finished it and was annoyed most of the time. It seemed really one sided until the conclusion, and felt borderline bashing. Most of what’s said can be found in unofficial documentaries- and let’s be honest those are way better at delivering a message than this. On top of that, the narrator sounded so pretentious. Like, if I wanted of hear someone talk half-facts for clicks with an annoying vocal fry at the end of each sentence I’d just tune into any show on the E! Channel.

Yet you claimed to have watched the entire 45mins ?:bear:

ARTPOP is a good album, it has some truly great standout moments that I keep returning to but it does not make for a very cohesive listening experience. It has less replay value than albums like Chromatica.

Some minor facts are off but it's a pretty comprehensive and objective video about ARTPOP. like it or not, gaga did some questionable things during that era and the music is not what it was hyped up to be with the exception of a few tracks. I actually thought the narrator was very respectful of how he spoke about gaga by maintaining a neutral tone when he narrated the controversies. Some of you are just mad that he didn't pretend like ARTPOP is a masterpiece that it very clearly isnt.

This video wasn't about defending ARTPOP or analysing the music. this video lays out the facts as they are from an outsiders point of view with no bias and that is why it is titled  "the war on ARTPOP".

Head Empty

I do wish he'd talk more about the creative content of the album, rather than just digging up dirt that nobody needs to hear about anymore.

We are all go through our “teenage mindset” era at one age or another. Thinking we know it all.

ARTPOP taught me how to be objective about what “pop” is and isn’t, and helped me branch out to other artists. My relationship with music became stronger as a result. I was in my “annoying stan” phase in 2013. Trust me when I say I know what it looks like.

yes I know I’m assertive
