hELXIG 41,608
Okay so I remembered recently that a million years ago in high school I was absolutely obsesssssed with this series by Chistopher Pike, The Last Vampire 1-6, and also read a few other titles from him as well. Well I've been wanting to re-read them as an adult... so tonight I went down a huge rabbit hole online for a couple hours (the kind where you sort of black out and then snap out of it afterwards like 'what have I done'), found out about thriftbooks.com and got excited that they sold original prints from like 30 years ago, and accidentally bought 11 of his books I guess I'm committed to getting back into reading **** (ELEVEN books. Who does that? I haven't read in years) but anyway I digress... I know it's a longshot but I'm just wondering if anyone else here has read his stuff?? Please tell me you enjoyed them so I can justify spending so much money in one go The titles I got were: Spoiler - The Last Vampire 1-6 - The Lost Mind - The Season of Passage - The Weekend trilogy - And I did want to re-read Monster again too but that one was a little pricey... we'll see how the first 11 go first (Hopefully at least one person has heard of him/his stuff so I'm not just shouting into the void ) okay bye I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. Healed My Heart 39,510
I was obsessed with his books too! I really wonder how they hold up today. Maybe I'll accidentally buy some as well My favorites were Remember Me (it's a trilogy I think) and Fall Into Darkness - which they made into a TV movie with Tatyana Ali (talk about a 90s throwback!). But I only vaguely remember the stories at this point. She/her 💗💜💙
Nemo 4,207
I'm amazed he had time to do this and command the Enterprise, too.

I was so obsessed with The Last Vampire when I was at high school, I would've read all 6 books about three times through! I also read Monster and The Lost Mind and loved those too. But just like you, I want to see how they hold up in the current day, interpreted by my now fully developed adult brain I would've last read them 15-17 years ago! Insane how time goes by. They were old books back then.. they're super old books now! Some of his books are older than me I wanted to buy a couple more I hadn't read, so I looked for his highest rated books and everyonnne seemed to rave about Remember Me, so I grabbed the trilogy too. And Also Season of Passage seemed well reviewed and interesting Come back here if you pick any up and give them a go! (P.S. they also made The Midnight Club into a Netflix series which seems quite popular and well received. They've also been trying to turn The Last Vampire into movies for over a decade but I secretly hope it never happens so the story is my own interpretation in my mind ) 6 hours ago, Nemo said: I'm amazed he had time to do this and command the Enterprise, too. STOP I guess he's just a very talented man. And they aren't having adventures every single night you know!. There's a lot of downtime on the ship between missions I'm sure. And not a lot to do in space I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Also I didn't realize The Midnight Club series was based on one of his stories, I've seen the trailer but never tried it! She/her 💗💜💙

TimotheeChalamet 4,657
In Italy they were published as a more "adult" division of the Goosebumps series and I remember reading some of them too. The main issue was that I was like 9-10 and dumb at the time, so I didn't know they were following a certain order and ended up being completely puzzled with how the story flowed
