Maybe to penalize the countries? like the cyprus-greece situation is absurd, only this year they voted properly because greece was out.. I think the jury votes should just stop, it's useless and it's been proven every single year.. His fart felt like a kiss

What I cant get is how Israel got so many great scores from the jury when she had a wardrobe malfunction and couldnt even do the beggining of the dancebreak properly. An individual might take their heritage into account when voting, but that only has small effect on the outcome.

StrawberryBlond 14,217
So happy for Loreen, it was my second favourite of the night, a very worthy winner. I'm so glad that the public gave Alessandra some love as she was weirdly underrated by the juries even though she had some of the best lyrics of the night. Portugal did nowhere near as well as deserved and I was also shocked at how bad France and Spain did. Overall, quite surprised at what connected. I feel really sorry for my country, UK, she really didn't deserve to be second from the bottom, there were much worse songs there. My parents even said that they fact she didn't dance was why she didn't do better (!!!) and it's sad how so often there's a big love-in for an act one year and the next, no one could care less. I'd really like to know how many non-European votes there were as well and where they came from so we can see how much of an impact international viewers made. 5 hours ago, LoliLux said: Finland and Austria are both my favorites. In addition to that I like Poland, though the Polish version doesn't feel unique, more like a "best of mix of previous hit songs". Finland because it is energetic and powerful and that's how I suppose pop music to be ideally, and Austria because it feels innovative, new and somehow sophisticated. I agree that the music flow in this songs is not systematic but it does not have to be that way. I guess tastes are different. Actually Strawberryblond, I'd have expected that you'd like the Austria entry b/c it tells a story about forgotten literature and you're so into that. Less than 1 hour till it starts! Popcorn please Norway was energetic and powerful with great lyrics and vocals. Finland's was using shock value for attention, had bad lyrics and was all about being controversial. Austria had bad lyrics, no vocal prowess, a weird storyline and an irritating beat. I'm not here for silly novelty songs.
