Same. The album is so generic and serving elevator music. She’s such a good singer but this album is not it. Bye

nothing about the album says summer or vacation.

generic? absolutely NOT

I fear I have to agree since I haven't even had the urge to give it another listen yet :selena: I'd boost the score closer to a 7 though

Soft, soothing, and succulent

Can we stop paying them any attention? Pitchfork is always so mean spirited tbh and just a bunch of messy bottoms I feel.
You can objectively criticize music, that’s absolutely fine, but they always trash songs/lyrics/artists for no reason.

Btw, does anyone else miss the „first reaction to XX album“-era on YouTube in 2018/19 ?

I was excited for this era cause of Flowers and River but the album is full of skips. :rip: They did make a point that Miley has trouble making consistent “listen from beginning to end” albums

1. Plastic Hearts

2. Bangerz

3. Can’t Be Tamed

4. Endless Summer Vacation

5. Breakout

6. Younger Now

7. Dead Petz

Is it though? I personally think that’s just what being a popstar is so constantly making this critique is monotonous. They have to make albums that will have mass appeal while simultaneously trying new and different things. There will be hits and misses. Actually, I think Plastic Hearts was not as popular because of how specific and niche the sound was.

Gaga hasn’t made a beginning to end album either imo, but I still like them the same.

Inclined to agree with PF in this case. I think Plastic Hearts is her strongest body of work, and Dead Petz has the highest highs. ESV does feel very tentative by Miley standards. It’s easy listening by design, but I enjoy Miley’s more experimental side.
