Ed Sheeran will be playing a homeless man struggling with a drug addiction in the action-comedy, which he shot in East London last year.

Adam Deacon’s upcoming film Sumotherhood also features Denise van Outen, Jennifer Saunders, Jaime Winstone, Peter Serafinowicz and Leomie Anderson, but it will be Ed’s transformation which is the most remarkable.

A movie insider said: “Ed plays this bloke who’s not got a home and looks like a crack addict.“

Genuine question, why do people really dislike Ed Sheeran?

In my eyes he's a bit boring and basic but he can make a good song, even if it's nothing special critically. He reminds me of Katy Perry or Drake, straightforward stuff that's easy to listen to/radio-friendly.

All the slander I see when his name pops up seems a bit cruel without any context. I'm outta the loop.

I'm curious to see how he fares in acting, especially a rom-com.

I think it has to do with his attitude change. He used to be very down to earth and humble. After a few successful album cycles, he began talking highly of himself and bragging about chart positions. I don’t care much for him but I feel that’s the main reason why GGD hates him. :rip:

I’m sorry but there are plenty of homeless crackhead actors out there who should be given this opportunity over Ed.

Hollywood casting at it again.

I don’t like him cause he literally shat himself and didn’t change his chonies for like two days. That’s just nasty.  He said it in some interview.
