Born This Way without a doubt. Back then I used to think there's no way she'd ever top the sound of The Fame and The Fame Monster. I was blown away listening to the album from start to finish. Then the hype starting from New Years with the announcement, Mugler, Born This Way single, Government Hooker, Gagavision, Gagaville, etc. then to finally listen to it for the first time omg.

I had a very mixed reaction when I first listened to Born This Way, but nowadays it's possibly my all time favorite album. I'd be curious to see how I'd react to a first listen now, without all of the juvenile expectations I had back then.

On the other hand, Chromatica was a fantastic first experience so I'd love to re-experience it as well.

I don't know if I had any expectations I was just blown away by it. I deliberately made a point to listen to Bloody Mary first when I got my hands on a zip folder online, because I thought the song title was cool. Still to this day the album blows me away, her best work imo

Chromatica for sure. Best first listen of a Gaga album I've had. Maybe because of the pandemic, I was so zoned in.

my initial thought was Chromatica but I'm going to switch it to The Fame Monster, imagine never hearing Bad Romance, Telephone, Alejandro, Monster, DITD, the entire thing. It applies to all albums lol but that's my pick

I feel like the fame monster is like the nectar of her being as 'Lady Gaga' like she is most known for this work. I wonder what it would be like to hear that again for the first time. It's still the only album I ever physically bought of hers lmao

born this way. i was a teenager and too young to appreciate just how diverse the album is sonically. truly her magnum opus.

chromatica would be interesting too bc it’s not one of my fav gaga albums and i wonder if i would have connected with it more had i not been trapped in a tiny apartment in lockdown at the time

Chromatica. My friends and I had a gathering the eve of its release and all dressed up as cheap renditions of different iconic Gaga looks :ladyhaha: we had MJH and a little bit of alcohol and it was just such a fun night, and hearing Chromatica I fade into Alice for the first time and then Alice’s initial instrumental bit…..it was MAGICAL :messga:

Hmmm my first thought was Born This Way or Chromatica as they are my favorite but actually it's The Fame cause it's out for so long and I honestly feel so numb to it, I'd like to have the connection I once had to it when it was the one and only album by Gaga

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I understand what you are saying. The Fame was like the bible when it was the only ga album we had. Now we have such an expansive catalog to choose from. Oh how the time passes :bradley:

ugh it all depends on what's going on in my life! like part of why BTW was so impactful was because I was literally living in an RV shortly after I came out as a lesbian and dealing with BYU trying to get me outta there. Chromatica was so impactful because of the time it came in and I (and we) was so isolated and the world was really scary and it gave me something to look forward to. Chromatica was also so special because TCB came during one of the absolute worst years of my life. The Fame Monster had such an impact because I was a closeted gay teenager in an abusive relationship and struggling with my sexuality and feeling like no one else in the world understood me (esp getting bullied so much for liking her). ARTPOP because I was so sick and depressed and dating someone I didn't love anymore and needed some semblance of a light at the end of the tunnel.

CONTEXT! If I hadn't listened to any of them at the exact moment I did, I don't think it would blow me away in the same way.

Chromatica, and I would do it exactly the same way again… listening party on zoom at midnight with my best friend… we listened to one whole act in one go, then talk about it, and then continued with the next… seeing each others reactions to Sine From Above was soo fun
