Twitter and TikTok are a bad representation of Gen Z for this very reason.

Social media is a big echo chamber that amplifies a lot of half-baked and ill informed takes. A lot of the Gen Z you see on social media have gotten their information about how the world works through social media rather than experience, so their view naturally is tainted.

But there are a great many of us, more than what is present on Twitter, who're not chronically online and are incredibly sex positive. We're pushing hard for sex work to be legitimized, trying to protect spaces like OnlyFans from celebrity exploitation so people who use it as their actual work can continue to be successful, normalizing conversations about and depictions of healthy sex, and pushing hard for more extensive sexual education.

I promise you we don't claim the Gen Z who're so vocal on social media. They work against everything that we as a whole generation are trying to accomplish. Thankfully, they're a subset of this generation, they're just chronically online so they appear to have a bigger platform than they actually do.

Thank you for explaining. As someone from Gen Alpha, I had a feeling that Gen Z were shaping up to be prudes but it’s good to know that’s not the case.

His personal feelings and choice

Why everyone putting a negative spin on this?

Because many people on here lack clear values and/or a sense of self beyond online memes , over sexualizing people/celebs and opposing everything that they dont like. :)

i think its hard to be married to an actor,

its easy to develop feelings for a co-star, especially if youre a good actor and it becomes part of your being lol

we all saw what gaga did to bradley and his wife............

Yeah... They mock someone the moment their values are even slightly different than urs

"I don't see the issue if it's just acting therefore you have to think the same way as me or your a dam fool": essentially what ppl are implying

Ppl are so forceful nowadays on how u have to think on everything even little things. Some stuff is just personal choice and there's grey areas. Let it be. His choice for this literally doesn't affect u like come on :toofunny:

"Forceful"? Disagreeing with someone pov is forcing them into changing theirs to adapt to yours?

We're they that agressive really ? Idk to me all I saw was folks disagreeing with some using the usual GGD joking tone rather than the supreme disdain you saw but maybe it was their spirit indeed...

I'm saying if ur truly respectful to different points of view u can just accept some room for personal choices without having to make negative comments

Some of the low-key negative comments right on the first page definitely give off a he's a fool kinda vibe. Someone even implied he if feels that way he must be a cheater and wants to cover it up. That doesn't sound judgemental to u?

I don't know why such comments are even necessary for something like this. If he feels more comfortable doing no sex scenes being in a relationship then great so what?

We don't have to constantly imply someone's thinking is wrong or foolish. We don't have to all think alike in everything like robots

Each to their own.. but married actors who film sex scenes are in no way ‘cheating’ on their real life partners. It’s acting. His reasoning .. lacks logic? I don’t know, seems a bit silly to me. I mean I can understand how weird it must be for his partner watching him kiss other women/have fake sex with them, but it’s not infidelity IMO.

Tbh I didn't find the comments really negative, rather just giving their opinions overall.

Well some said it made no sense to them indeed but it wasn't an attack on his intelligence imo, rather their impressions on his point. They think his take make no sense, doesn't mean they find him to be a dumb guy imo.

This comment was a reach indeed but that's but I still wouldn't call it agressive or disdainful. And that's the "worst".

It's a forum, people just chat and discuss their impressions on everything. It's not like if they were sending it to the actor DM. I don't think people here were intense about it making a huge deal out of it as you seem to think actually.

Well we really didn't perceive it the same way cause to me no one imposed a pov on others here.

Yeah ppl will discuss it in a forum and it's so normalized I guess ppl don't even see such comments as low key being critical

At the end of the day it's not that serious, I only commented on that fact cuz in general I don't like certain societies habits that have become prominent since internet era.

so I'll just accept u have a different point of view that isn't necessarily wrong and leave it there cuz otherwise it will turn in 5 pages of back and fourth

The reaction to this has been very puritanical. It's trippy and kind of scary to watch Gen Z agreeing with MAGA Boomers. :rip:

MTE.

From what I gather, You is a sexy, trashy thriller, and adapted from a book series, previously on Lifetime, which often makes very horny programming for women. Like, why did he even sign up for such a role if these were his views? IDK, he's giving Jim Caviezel (very religious, conservative actor) and Kirk Cameron teas - a lot of that gives me the vibe of "doth protest too much". A lot of actors say that sex scenes are very mechanical and awkward, and with the addition of intimacy coordinators, surely the actors are made to be much more comfortable now days with these types of scenes.
