Economy 52,845
I don't think it will do much tbh. I doubt the majority of couples not having kids is for fertility problems, and the ones that are, a few probably still seeked out treatment despite the cost anyway This will definitely help a few couples out and maybe lead to a few more births but I doubt it will make a huge difference However I wouldn't be surprised if in some of these Asian Countries fertility may be a huge problem now It's been known for some time that stress and many chemicals are affecting people's fertility and in men in particular making sperm counts drop a lot vs what they were many decades ago. Many of these Countries have less strict laws on chemicals and plastics and safety limits on products etc even than in the developed world and sperm counts have dropped a lot here already as it is I wonder if a big percentage of them are struggling but for social taboo reasons won't talk about it and maybe they are not generally aware of how big of an issue it may actually be

Honestly I'm surprised they only got rid of it in 2016 Demographics is something u can usually see trends coming many years before they manifest themselves ud think they would have peeled that back earlier Perhaps they assumed once restrictions were peeled back ppl would have more kids. They were probably caught off guard that when limits were raised most ppl still chose to have only 1. Also technically they still have a limit of 3 now. Although most ppl don't want more than that anyway, I'm surprised if they want more kids that they still have a limit at all. Like why not just trash it entirely? We are facing population decline in our life times and if it happens too quickly we won't be able to sustain our society or take care of our elderly properly Population decline is one thing. But the numbers show it will be very agressive in many nations including China. The system wasn't designed to have such a high percentage of your population being senior citizens
