49 people who worked in a department in the Canada Revenue Agency responsible for deploying the emergency income benefits during covid known as CERB ($2000/month) for those left unemployed by the pandemic were fired after an investigation found that at least 49 of their own employees applied for and received the benefit while ironically being employed in the very agency that processed applications and determined whether or not you qualified for them

How stupid do u have to be. If u work for a department like that, you of all people should know stuff is registered on the system and given you worked for the very same department itself that processed it, it's extra easy for them to find out if you were employed in that time period or not
