YouCanSitWithUs 394
This is sad, y'all. So...I don't live here anymore, but I grew up in this town and got out and moved to Columbus where it is much more progressive, but this is a suburb of Dayton, Ohio and the cops are known to be really homophobic/racist there. It's called Butler Township, Ohio. My friend, who still lives in this area, called me because I used to work at the McDonalds that this incident happened at when I was in high school. So sad. Apparently, the cops went to arrest the woman after she complained she never received extra cheese on her Big Mac. The suburban McDonalds then called the police because she was being "rowdy" and the cops arrived and dragged her out to the lot to "talk to her". They then began to detain her and when she struggled and asked why, they began to repeatedly pummel her in the face until she was knocked out enough they could handcuff her. The NAACP is now involved. This link is from TMZ. The recording is from a staff member of the Butler Township McDonalds who noticed the cops were being too aggressive with her inside the store and started recording once they dragged her out. The woman's name is Latinka Hancock. The hospital confirmed she suffered head trauma. http://www.tmz.com/2023/01/18/ohio-woman-punched-cop-extra-cheese-big-mac-mcdonalds-butler-township/ Edited January 26 by YouCanSitWithUs 3

The cops in this town yelled at me one time because I pulled up at a traffic light (maybe only 5 or 6 blocks from this McDonalds) in 2011 and they told me to "quit playing that gay ass music". I remember because I was, admittedly, playing Rihanna really loud in my car but I was always shocked that a cop said "quit playing that gay ass music." 5

I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I hope something can be done to curb the amount of discrimination over there. Stuff like this just makes my blood boil. 💗TheSineFromAbove💗
Sherry 3,646
When I went to Vegas to see Enigma, I encountered in the north strip 2 cops that said "you're wearing a Gaga shirt you must be gay. Why do you love penis and not p*ssy?" Love it when you call me legs, in the morning buy me eggs 🥚 5
dit 41,421
This is horrible. Yes I know you should NEVER resist arrest but she seemed extremely frightened. Like she was just having a panic attack rather than resisting arrest tbh....feel terrible for her and the US cops need to be REFORMED immediately.

Like...why did they even need to punch her? They had tazors for crying out loud. It seemed like that cop just wanted to get out some aggression, to me. And that aggression came out on that lady's face. Also we need to stop doing this thing in America where we charge people for resisting arrest. Arrest for what? If someone wasn't do anything illegal in the first place you shouldn't be arresting them. How do you charge someone for resisting an arrest of nothing? That's just cops having a Napoleon complex. Economy 42,035
Cops being disproportionately aggressive (and in this case likely racist also). What else is new Friend of mine who came from Argentina not long ago actually just had a horrible experience himself with a cop He was driving with his Argentina license which he was told would be valid for 90 days until he had to switch to a Canadian license The cop stopped him (I forgot why) and when he asked for the license he started yelling and saying "do you think I'm stupid? Out of the car!!!!!" Long story short there was a lot of yelling, he did not get to explain himself and the car had to be left there. He also has a ticket now too Unclear yet if the information he was given was incorrect for the type of license he had or if it was the cop who made the mistake but either way even if the cop was correct that it wasn't valid, the reaction was still extremely exagerated

I can't bare to deal with sudden aggression. I'm sorry your friend had to go though that. 💗TheSineFromAbove💗

I wouldn't call it irrational fear given its a common problem Of course not every cop starts escalation over nothing. But the percentage that do is pretty frightening I think there's 2 problems that compound eachother. #1 law enforcement is gonna disproportionately attract certain types of personalities that are more likely to be more aggressive than just assertive #2 power corrupts so if any already have the tendency to be **** heads... The position over time will get to their heads and corrupt them further

I find it sad that the good cops get overshadowed by the majority of terrible cops. Definitely an issue. 💗TheSineFromAbove💗
