Love this song so much. Yes it's nothing special but the simple beat and lyrics is exactly why it works. It's also a highly relatable message and one many people need today.

The first time I heard it I was like ‘this is not a single, at most a b-side, I don’t hate it but I’m probably not gonna listen to it again’ bish... that melody, I could not get it out of my headddd, it’s been on repeat. It’s just super catchy and chill, its the type of song to have on repeat.

Yeah she's had really good songs over the past 10 years too that did not perform well. But it being a great song doesn't just magically put it in front of listeners.

I think the Bruno mars gimmick thing is working to generate interest/convo/content. Plus the context of the song is juicy celebrity gossip so it’s catching people’s interest tbh. The song itself is catchy, not amazing, def not as good as midnight sky, so I’m also surprised! But I am happy for her success.
