I criticized the music, a music that became international and not LATAM exclusive and I never criticized the people, so let's not go there His fart felt like a kiss

Even if we're talking charts, they're mostly dominated by locals in each country + the international ones' latest hit, so they're more representative of each country than what you may think. First, calm down the attitude, if you can't discuss properly just don't discuss at all. Second, you're not from CR so you don't know what they are listening to there, I lived there enough to experience the music landscape in the country. It's not like I can't find the charts on the internet and compare 'em to other countries' and find the differences between them... maybe you should calm down with the generalizations, just an idea. andy232000 9,887
Im ALSO from LATAM and yes, i can confirm that all music here sound exactly the same. Cause this is probably the least interesting disagreement. and BTW, three of the examples you provided do use the same percussion at some point…so yeah. Thats what I said. Other instruments can make the sound a bit different. But it is undeniable that latin american music is plagued by the same drum progression (and specially reggaeton). Some hide it better then others, that I can agree with

And I'm honestly tired of the narrative. It comes from a place of US and eurocentric ideas that propose those culutres and their otuput as being superior, that is so deeply ingrained in society that people no longer see it and just go along with it. so yeah... it is that deep

All bachata's sharing the same guitar rythmic pattern, G-D-Em-C (or transposed equivalent) being used in almost every pop song? 3 out of eleven makes you think you proved a point ? cute.
