We cannot know for sure if a rerelease will be issued, since apparently she does not have a good memory of this work, but we can only wonder and wish for it. Then I ask, which are the pros and cons of a ARTPOP ACT II release this year? Lemme start: Pro: unreleased tracks and demos probably getting a finished production. The reputation of the original album has done a lot of climbing since 2013, so it's a nice part of her legacy in its current form. Adding to it might invite unwanted criticism. That said, of course I'd like to hear "new" material. Noah 26,635 Posted January 10, 2023 Share Posted January 10, 2023 Pro: - The ARTPOP Era will get its final ending, it will not feel unfinished by fans. - Positive Reception could change Gagas outlook on the whole Album + its Impact - a few Songs are stuck in Interscopes vault anyways, so they could make money off of them - Songs like Brooklyn Nights could finally be given official life Con: - Gaga would want to not release certain Songs for artistic reasoning (f.e. Lyrics aged poorly) - Gaga would want to not release certain Songs for personal reasoning (f.e. about former relationships + friends) - Troy may still be linked to parts of the Project, which makes it difficult legally - Interscope will still have to press CDs, do a whole Marketing Campaign and they may not see it as lucrative - Fans may feel like the Songs aged poorly and will be mad at Gaga and DJWS - It‘ll be looked at as a new Album by Gaga in her Contract, which means it‘ll need polishing, a vision etc. - Gaga may be wild and have BLOODPOP involved - The Album could disturb future release Plans Idea: ACT II could be just the finished 2-5 Songs, polished up and added as Deluxe Tracks for „ARTPOP: The Complete Collection“. With a repressing on Vinyl, a few Shirts, some Outtakes of the Photoshoot and the few finished Songs we know, it may make fans happy and it would make ARTPOP re-appear on the Charts. It would also put the weight off of Interscopes + Gagas shoulders to completely market a whole new Pop Album with old Material.
