tbh i think she's right

nepotism is nothing new, nothing groundbreaking, and frankly nothign that will change any time soon. the only value in the constant "nepo babies exist? who knew?  " articles is to discredit the targeted individuals.

plenty of people who aren't nepo babies have been given chances for reasons outside of talent

It’s just like any subject, when it becomes generalized it misses the mark and becomes insulting and dismissive of anyone regardless of that person’s situation. There are plently of talented people who have influential backgrounds due to their family, who still deserve to be where they are if we judge strictly by talent. This is the internet’s new fascination and as usually, we go extreme with it instead of having nuanced conversations. There’s points to be made on both ends of the conversation so let’s meet in the middle. But that’s just my opinion.

I mean she's right. She acknowledges being born from fame gave her an advantage... And it is true that being born Priveledged increases ur chances of success...

 

But its also true that it doesn't guarantee anything and it doesn't mean she (and others like her aren't talented) and it's certainly kinda rude to imply otherwise.

Tbh. All discussions about Priveledge these days whether it's about race, gender or sex, sexual orientation or social class are always extremely generalized

 

It's fine in the context of discussing general problems in society but I think they are problematic once u start to wanna apply them to every situation for every I dividual

 

Individual cases will not always correlate to the general rule. We need to still remember ppl are individuals and situations also vary as well on a case by case basis

She is absolutely right. What is the purpose of calling it out? The reality is, those with connections tend to come first. We all know that.

But, in the case of Jamie Lee, Laura Dern, Jeff Bridges, and countless other actors and performers who came from at least one famous parent, there is no denying that their talent is what took them from opportunity to fully-formed, highly regarded career.

You can be a nepotism baby and have a good work ethic. Doesn't change the fact that the odds were heavily in your favor to begin with.

Celebs need to stop taking it so personally, people are just pointing out an unfair system that theyre a part of.

In my opinion, nepotism babies who A) acknowledge their privilege, and B) encourage and help open the door for new talent should be given a pass.
