Johnny Depp and Amber Heard settle defamation claims

Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard have finally settled their defamation claims against each other — putting to an end the most bitter Hollywood divorce in modern times.

The pair’s lawyers have thrashed out a deal which will see Heard’s insurance company pay Depp $1million to put an end to the case. 

But, in an important victory for the actress, there are no restrictions about what she can talk about in regards to the case and she has accepted no guilt.

The pair have been locked in a bitter legal battle on both sides of the Atlantic over the last six years after Heard alleged she was a victim of domestic violence during their short marriage.

A courtroom in London found in her favour, but a second case in Fairfax, Virginia, earlier this year came out on Depp’s side.

The pair’s legal teams have been locked in discussions to avoid the pain of a bruising third trial after Heard filed an appeal. A deal was finally made over the weekend with both sides agreeing to put out a statement today.

i just found it funny how the whole world was on johnny's side, calling amber the worst insults ever, only to then turn on johnny

I don't care for either of those, but it really shows how people on social media are sheeps without their own capability of rational thinking, and just go for whats the most popular opinion at the moment

I’d say 80% are still on Depps side. It’s just that the vocal Gen Z Heard enthusiasts started getting vocal and some negative stuff about Depp came out from the redacted court docs.

I disagree. 

I believe that majority of the world clearly saw abuse from both sides.

They just saw more abuse from Ambers side. So yes, they may have been on Johnny's side during the trial, that doesn't mean the public are ignoring the fact he also was abusive.

Thank god. Johnny let her off easy after damning audio recordings mocking him for running away from a physical fight she admitted she started lmao. I hope she doesn't do any more interviews playing the victim. Pretty sure both were druggies and abusers in a toxic relationship. I have sympathy for neither.
