Hold My Hand Oscar, does it have competition?

People are saying they're content with a nomination for Hold My Hand but, could it realistically win? Now that Lift Me Up is deemed as one of the blandest songs in Rihanna's discography and that fails to do Black Panther justice, what is Hold My Hand's biggest competition?

According to Variety, these are the frontrunners for Best Original Song:

1. Rihanna - Lift Me Up for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
2. Naatu Naatu from RRR (a Bollywood movie I haven't heard of tbh)
3. Lady Gaga - Hold My Hand for Top Gun: Maverick
4. Diane Warren - Applause for Tell It Like a Woman
5. Billie Eilish and Finneas - Nobody Like U for Turning Red
6. Taylor Swift - Carolina for Where the Crawdads Sing

I forgot about I Ain't Worried. :air: Maybe we should be worried about them.

They aren’t eligible since the song contains a sample

Maybe Finneas and Ferb because it's a Pixar song

Or Diane Warning because they feel sorry for her, something like Leonardo DiCarpet

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

No keep it. She doesn't need a second song Oscar before securing Best Actress.

They honestly need to cut this category altogether, or at least limit it to songs that are actually performed on screen. As it is it's just a pointless category whose only purpose is to be vultured by popstars for an ego boost.

I'm pretty sure Billie won't win bc she won an Oscar this year. Diane has that lifetime achievement Oscar or whatever it's called, so I don't think she'll win this category either. Also I don't think Taylor will even be nominated. So that leads us to Hold My Hand/Lift Me Up/Naatu Naatu. Naatu Naatu is allegedly very popular among some Academy voters already, but India nominated another movie for Best International Movie and not RRR, which could lower the chance of winning Best Original Song. Hold My Hand and Lift Me Up were moderate hits, but had a strong movies behind them which is more important tho. So it'll be interesting competition.

Perfect Celebrity

I hope that Gaga and Rihanna spend the entire evening attached at the hip and give a total girlboss moment. Whoever wins, wins, but I think it’d be really cute to see them sitting next to each other and having fun all night.

Honestly I don’t think even Gaga wants to win this time. She’d be happy with a nomination and a chance to perform. Having said that, HMH is definitely more up the conservative voters alley so that will help it a lot. Top Gun is like catnip for old American people which is like 90% of the academy.

Finneas and Ferb won last year so I dont think the Academy will give it again two years in a row. Diane Warren will be getting an achievement Oscar so I also dont think they'll give it to her (kinda sad she had to wait 14 years and her first oscar wont actually be won, but handed over to her).

Diane will get a lifetime achievement award this year, so her win is highly unlikely.
