Absolutely insane. The fact that the vast majority of her physical sales was vinyl.  Gaga better should lean into vinyl next time and not wait a full calendar year to offer a vinyl version with any kind of artwork at all.  The clear only or picture disc options with clear sleeves was such a weird choice to limit us too when the artwork for the album was so good. But back to the topic…. Slay Taylor, legendary numbers

chromatica had so much potential for marketing opportunities with the tribe symbol theme

they even started it with the picture disc 7 inch vinyls but for some odd reason, 911 had next to no merch for its mini-era... i was super excited for it too :crossed:

mother, what must i do?

This is insane! She’s so powerful. Sometimes I get a bit pressed wishing that Gaga could push these numbers but then I remember how much work and effort Taylor puts into her art (not to say Gag doesn’t). She definitely deserves it. I can see another AOTY award in her future. I haven’t heard Midnights just yet but I will be streaming it all day tomorrow during work. :music:

Midnights arrived after months of pre-release promotion and pre-orders — and its sales figure is bolstered by an array of available versions and variants of the album. It is available to purchase in a standard digital album (both clean and explicit); a deluxe digital album (clean and explicit, each with seven additional songs); an iTunes-exclusive version with a bonus spoken word track (clean and explicit); four standard CD editions (each with a different cover, both clean and explicit); four vinyl LP editions (each with a different cover and colored vinyl); and a cassette tape. Target is also selling an exclusive “Lavender” edition of the album on CD and colored-vinyl LP, with the CD boasting three bonus tracks.

21 different editions. That’s a marketing genius.
Gaga should have done something like this with Chromatica. I hated the vinyls that we had at the album release. The trifold was f*cking awesome.

When we're not together tell me everything's gonna be alright

Yes.  The original Chromatica vinyl where so ugly and sad. And COVID had nothing to do with it, everyone else was releasing beautiful vinyl in 2020. It took a year and half to get a proper gatefold edition of Chromatica

I do feel she sort of abandoned the era when she released and we were in a pandemic and racial reckoning. She even shut down her online store the week of release and it remained off for weeks. I bet she just told them to stop making new things.   It was terrible luck and timing.

Not this turning into a  "Gaga should've ..." thread again.  :yennefer:

It’s kinda inevitable because you can see the difference with Taylor’s label/marketing team.

Yes but we've seen "heavy promo" Gaga from The Fame til ARTPOP and she said she was miserable. Everything she's been doing since Cheek To Cheek has been 100% her vision now and she rarely takes breaks or goes more than 2 years between some big project so I don't understand what fans want lol. She has won an Oscar, she keeps winning Grammys , I don't think there's much to see about Taylor's marketing team. Gaga is doing pretty well.

I understand why she made these numbers, this is my second Taylor album after her debut album that I replay from start to finish and I listen to the 3am version

I love the fact that from her debut to Evermore it looks like a normal distribution :ladyhaha:
