@PartySick just relealized my last word on the title "release" read as "rele" because it cut off :koons:

I'm telling u the length of the title doesn't always allow for a full accurate thought :deadbanana:

Any idea if this is something Admin can change?

Every second year in the US is election year, and election campaigns are incredibly long. I think it's a bit easy to call things an "election move" because of that. Everything is an "election move" in the US.

If Biden gave everyone a cash hand-out somewhere around this time, or suddenly increased pension payments, or impeded on central bank independence so that rates wouldn't be increased (which is something Trump tried) - then we'd be talking. But doing what is consistent with your political programme, and doing that closer to election campaigns, is not a problem.

True but the fact he timed the releases to end right after election is also sus :enigma:

It's almost like, it doesn't matter as much if gas prices go up right after

Republicans showing their cards right now.  It’s obvious they’re in bed with the Saudi’s and expected to use them to try to blow up Dems before Midterms.  Meanwhile, they care absolutely nothing about hurting the American people in the process.

I feel like if the roles were reversed tho the Democrats would make the exact same criticism tbh considering very large draws of SPR are very rare

It's politics as usual. I have a very hard time believing the Democrats would just stay quiet about it if it was the Republicans in power and they decided to do this heading into election
