I literally found out last week that there is a state run food bank here that will give weekly groceries to families with low income and any senior over the age of 65. They had hundreds of boxes of groceries and food and they said people didn't come to get it so tell all my friends... so I just saved over $50 by not having to buy all these veggies, fruits, milk, bread and canned foods from the market. The guy at the bank said its part of Gavin Newsom's plan to feed all residents.

I don't know that much about him but Newsom seems like he's really about walking the walking and making huge changes for the state! Of course the taxes are high but it seems like the benefits of it are really great, benefitting people who need it most.

My mom, her coworkers, and her neighbor all benefit so much from these programs! She’s always telling me how much the state is helping her through her rough financial times rn!!! California FTW!

Right? They allow one box of food a week. I'm literally gonna save $200 of food a month

Idk how long these programs are slated to be active, but I hope they last a while!

I'm very pro programs like this to feed those that can't afford it, I mean food is a human right. Or at least it should be

 

But I do low-key question yazzing California. Isn't the insane cost of living there a contributing factor why so many ppl need to rely on these programs in the first place?

 

I mean better to help while being expensive than to be expensive and not help at least but still
