I saw a tweet like that on my timeline from a blue checkmark person and rolled my eyes. Not a fan of Taylor, but she's not fatshaming. Like, is she not allowed to talk about her negative feelings about her own body? Especially as someone who is recovering from an ED. If anything, it's more like a mirror to insane beauty standards & how it makes most people feel. It's so basic in its message I can't believe anyone has a problem with it.

im chubby and this is not fatphobic? its like when you call yourself ugly from time to time when you feel bad about yourself. doesnt mean you actually believe it

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

This is stupid. We all know that when Taylor wasn‘t super skinny anymore, the media talked about her weight gain and always cited the same 2-3 pictures. Additionally she also struggles/struggled from an eating disorder. Let her share her story, you can share yours.

Hun…you can share your story without being fat phobic. If you’re not part of the community, just sit down and don’t tell someone how to see something that relates to them. Skinny gals love to do exactly what the people here are accusing her of doing and look at fat as a glaring red letter word. It’s just regressive, cheap, and a bit shallow which tbh is not deeply uncommon for her imagery.

people will get offended by anything these days…:triggered:

Girl when were you born that “fat” doesn’t ring an alarm as a bad word? Lmao even in the context of this image. It’s been a villainized word for like 40 years+

I cannot with every one of you going also clearly identifying that she’s using the word “fat” in a bad context here but being like “idk why they’re offended by her referring to fat in a bad context here! It’s deep art!”

it’s a very surface level pop video. It’s not that deep. That’s not a read on her that’s just stating a fact here. Users know exactly why she is using the word, they don’t need it mansplained to them by a twink with the same complex as TSwift. No one is saying she hates fat people but you can still be regressive by accident especially when you’re POV is from being a skinny gorgeous gal. It’s a little ick and she could have handled it with more finesse. Doesn’t mean she’s the devil and needs to be annihilated off the face of the earth it’s just a misstep but to a community that has been ridiculed for decades, it’s important to call something to attention. If it doesn’t affect you, move on. If you’re a diehard swiftie and want blood, touch grass. If miss t can talk about her experience so can these users and that’s that.

There's just something about the word "FAT" in capital letters in a scale that is so funny to me :air:

Should’ve said “delete it fat” on the scale instead

There’s literally Easter eggs every scene and literally references MANY things she has said before alongside many lyrics in the song so..

I’m so glad to see a large (lol) majority of people here have sense and see through the whole “fatphobic” thing.

Its insane that someone explaining their Eating Disorder/Body Dysmorphia offends people.

I’ve had severe body image issues since I was a teenager.  I was an obese child, that is not healthy, there’s no way to dress that up.  I lost the weight when I was a teenager but I still feel like a fat kid now and again.  When I reached a healthy weight, I still felt fat and became bulimic in my teens, luckily that extreme went away.

Even now in my late twenties, I still feel like that fat kid sometimes despite being slim.

I do agree with the pro fat crowd on the fact that people should be kinder towards fat people, there’s normally a whole minefield of negative mental health feelings underlining their weight or a physical issue meaning they gain weight and struggle to lose it.  I think the movement overstretches when they want to say it’s “healthy” though… because it isn’t lmao

The video addresses how fatphobia is internalized by people who might not necessarily have a visibly 'fat' boby and how it can lead to eating disorder. Stop reading everything on the surface level and be offended.

Having an eating disorder with fear of being overweight is not fatphobic. Being fatphobic is getting in someone else's business about their weight and to reject them or judge them because of their weight

Maybe you just do not get the message at all. Being fat is also not a community feeling, there are many different reasons to be fat and different classifications as to who is being labeled fat. Taylor was very skinny for the longest time in her career, gains a little weight and thats all the media reported and Trolls tore her apart for. Cut to, her being held to the standard that she has to be skinny and the scale (in this case, symbolism to something out her control) already labeling her something. I think your problem is more with Taylor herself than the ‚FAT‘. Maybe her art is just not for you to consume.
