For now...

1. Question...?

2.Anti-Hero

3.Lavender Haze

4.Vigilante ****

5. Snow on the Beach

6. Mastermind

7. Karma

8. Labyrinth

9. Maroon

10. Sweet Nothing

11.You're On Your Own Kid

12.Bejeweled

13. Midnight Rain

Honestly though, all thirteen tracks are better than the lesser half songs of Folklore, and better than most of Evermore & Lover (and most of her discography, tbh...though I'll always have a soft spot for her poppiest pop [Look What You Made Me Do, I Knew You Were Trouble, Shake it Off, etc])

I see, for me Folklore during its time was that grown story driven escapism album for me. My previous fav album was 1989. I can see Midnights being very appealing for a lot of people. I just wish it was a different pop direction maybe a new producer or something.

honestly...both?

There are no four to the floor bangers, that's for sure. But it's not sleepy. To manage your expectations, I would say it sounds like folklore songs with lover production.

Don't worry, it sounds NOTHING like folkmore. The ones who says "lover meets folkmore" ( which I agree) mean lyrics wise ( where folkmore really shines) , there are songs on midnight which are a little more profound than " I think he knows" but sonically these new songs sound 0 like folkmore; apart from Sweet nothing, which is a slower non electro pop track, the rest of never could never fit into folkmore!
I'm really enjoying this new album, I think it was right for both her and us to listen to something lighter yet sharp. You might love it:staymad:

So i finally caved in to my temptations and gave it a listen.. Its good on first listen but I dont think there are any instant smashes like blank space... entire album sounds like a 45 minutes long one track.. anyways hope it grows on me more. Its definitely has a dancey production compared to folklore.

Ugh gonna repent by streaming it multiple times tomorrow:giveup: on Spotify.

I'm listening to it on loop and it definitely grows, also it sounds cohesive yet different but yeah my first thought too was that tracks  sounded too similar at first listen. Now they don't to me.
1989 is once in a lifetime piece of work so when it comes to Midnight it's like Chromatica, I love it but there's no Poker Face or Bad Romance in it :lolga:

midnight can comfortably sit alongside reputation and lover though imo:staymad:

It’s a nice album, the fans are really gonna love it. It’s a mix of Lover and Folklore/Evermore with a little bit of the Antonoff 1989/Reputation chill tracks. She really balanced it here for both sides.

I just listened to it from start to finish once so can’t really tell the songs apart but they’re all like Getaway Car, Delicate, etc. kind of like Ariana’s Positions where it’s all one long song but I’m sure I’ll pick my favorites after a couple more listens.

And yeah this is no way like Melodrama.

In the song Anti-hero what does the “sexy baby” line mean I’m still scratching my head :triggered:

I guess the album has a dream pop vibe that is very easy to listen to. However, I don't think it has brought anything new to the table. It's like a Billie Eilish and Lorde album without the intrigue, build-up, and diverse tempos. Same reverb-soaked, midtempo tunes throughout. Let's just say it's a very safe record.

Anti-Hero is a fitting lead single. I am already singing the chorus.

UGH I want to love this. But I don’t at all. Hoping it grows on me? I only liked august and TLGAD at first on Folklore and now I happily listen to the entire thing except the last (three hoax peace happiness, but the lakes is great) while I work. MAYBE that will happen. Idk. Maybe I overhyped. This feels like a WATERED down and weird baby of Lover. The lyrics are a mess vs folkMore.

maybe no Max, no hits? Maybe I’m being too negative.

I love lavender haze and karma

it's like she grabbed folklore/evermore lyrics and added synths onto them, i like it but cant say more than that about it

... and now i just sit in silence.
