Analysis shows that the 4 most populated provinces which combined are near 90% of the Countries population will fail miserably to meet their ambitious housing starts thru to 2030 that was meant to help ease the chronic supply shortage and help housing crisis

The main cited issue by the Government controlled CHMC (Canada Housing Market Corporation) is that there is insufficient labor to meet construction requirements

Canada has been in a housing boom since 2001 which only took a minor dip in 2009 and now recently with rising interest rates.

Despite consistently high prices, home builders have consistently failed to keep up with population growth.

Construction workers are also disproportionately older, with many due to retire over coming years, the shortage could get worse

The fact that in many Canadian cities young single ppl that still never got into the market still have to live with their parents even if they are making $30/h is beyond me

I literally make a little bit more than that and I still live with my parents and I actually feels so depressing. I feel like I'm still a kid yet I'm saving for a home that I won't even get approved for a mortgage...it even gets me down that all my friends in Ontario as well are in a similar situation as well...plus the older people at work always judging me saying how they got a home at like 23....

What do u do to make $30/h?

I make $22.59/h now with my new job :(

but I've noticed the norm now is that ppl buy a house once their parents die and they inherit a lot of wealth (which was also tied to realestate in the first place)

I'm a Content Strategist but the title is nonsense, I basically am the one-person social media content person, so I do photos, videos, graphic design etc. Sucks because I'm underpaid (found out I make $10K to $15K less than average in the Toronto area) and I'm in constant burnout since I have the responsibilities of 4 roles...

Yeah, I know two people that got inheritance but they still struggle because of the mortgage payments. It's really tough out here...
