So he gonna just act liek he didn’t “cash out”???

Just to be clear Akon is a businessman and Lady Gaga is a businesswoman.

The decision was about business and stopping investing money. Not dropping her as she was still in contract with Interscope or dropping her management has he was only an investor (and co songwriter / producer in early days)

I'm sure she also parted way with some people for money purpose without having any kind of bad feelings.

It's actually very rare for any artist to stick with same people for business for decades and decades. I'm sure Gaga will have other team changes / new collaborators in business in the future.

Straight men talking about Gaga is my least favorite genre of conversation :toofunny:

“Hands on your knees, I’m Angelina Jolie”

I hope so, starting with the choreographer :partysick:

We know it's about business but there are classy ways to say it, we're still talking about humans so imo it would be more respectful to not talk about them like if you were merely describing stocks and what you did with it.

Mainly when you started super friendly with them to then describe them as a simple stock when they sold less ( post ARTPOP ) to finally call them " little sister " when they went back to sell a dam lot ( ASIB ).

If you see them as only an investment it's fine but then don't play the big bro role to show your true colors when they sale less.

I realize they’re discussing the business aspect of the industry, but it always feels so scummy hearing how they’re talking about it (especially this, like he fr trashed/ shaded her during ARTPOP). I guess partially because even just as a listener not even creating, the art & talent of it all is always pushed to the forefront in my head. It’s just so, awkward for me idk :icega:

ALSO omg not him taking credit for Bad Romance. Maybe he’s correct, but TFM was always considered her second album by her. I know we’ve had this discussion many times throughout time in the fan base whether to count it as LG2 or just an EP, but I thought it was officially settled that it was considered the second album. We have TFM deluxe which includes TF, but IDK omg this brought up so many confusing memories :cryga:

Proto gaga was Red and Blue which could technically count as 1

The Fame was widely considered her first

The Fame Monster was the 2nd even if it was only 8 songs long.

TBF to Akon, I recall him backtracking pretty quickly and saying nice things about her when the ARTPOP backlash was still going on & it was still popular to 'hate' her....I really don't think he was the one she meant when she talked about being a cash cow....My guess is that was mostly aimed at Troy & Rob & Laurieann (there was Rob related lawsuits/drama going all the way up until ARTPOP). He also had some drama with Interscope at the time, so the 'cashing out' thing might have been more bitterness about that than Gaga herself.

Well no trying to defend him at all but ar least he had the honesty to say it tbh.

She's making 100M dollars contacts lately, you think she has no people in her team sticking for money purpose ?

Akon left but we know during ARTPOP time there were toxic people still around her. DJ Snake said the experience working with her was totally ****ed up mainly because of people around her trying to keep a hand on her and fighting over the credits in the studio.

And there's still people asking those people back on next album, asking for Act 2 and on the other hand trashing Akon for that statement. The irony :laughga:

I'd take everything with a grain of salt. He doesn't even know his facts when talking about her lol

"She doesn't have more than four albums"

"Bad Romance was on the first album"

Like... wut :toofunny:

Came here to say this, thank you

Trash :iamfair:

Not him pretending he and redone "led her in the direction that could blow her" when Gaga wrote 100+ songs for The Fame and came with a vision no mainstream label would push her towards in 2007-8. No one takes credit for her hard work - Akon invested and he made a profit, but he cannot claim credit.

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?
