I'm a big fan of RED. It was the album that made me a fan. But I hope it gets ignored. Only new material should be considered.

I guess anyone could re-record their albums and submit every year but I bet very few artists want to spend the time or money to re-record old albums unless they have a similar masters beef and even so, if their album wasn’t nominated or a winner for AOTY before most people would not have the chutzpah or confidence to decide to try again with the same album. On one hand i’m against this because it is an old recording, but on the other hand it makes sense. The Red (TV) release was one of the biggest pop culture events of the decade so far, it’s been one of the decade’s biggest albums from a commercial and critical standpoint, and with the 10-minute version of ATW, it feels almost like a new album and era entirely (unlike Fearless which was an extremely fun and enjoyable nostalgia trip). 

Ignoring it would be ignoring a massive part of music this past year, so I dont really see any fault in it getting nominated (I do however see fault in it potentially winning over new albums of equal quality).

I don’t understand why some reduce these albums to just re-releases when the vault tracks are clearly new material.
