The Descent and it's not even close... the paranormal/conjuring movies don't hold a candle to that one Ican't :enigma:

One of the few classics of this century so far.

Truly!

While the Conjuring are iconic on their own, The Descent too is just far more likely to happen or be real, being stuck in a cave or a small place in the dark with no chance of help or escape, that's the creepiest thing that could happen.

A few I find more unsettling than anything. Not actually scary as in I'm terrified but just uneasy.

This one is too real;

This is messed up and brutal. (Orginal not the sanitised crap American remake)

Fantastic B movie that is Gorey AF

I am a massive horror fan since I was 7, but I really didn't fine any of the nearly 600 horror movies I've watched really scary, mostly they give me a strong unsettling feeling.

In that case Audition, Hereditary and Sinister come to mind. Also the original Ring and Grudge are scarier than the remakes

Edit: Possession (1981) too

I also thought of Sinister.

I wanted to watch this movie Creep (2004) when I was I think 12-14 years old and after about 20 minutes, I was like "nope!".

TW: suicide

Not a scary movie, but a real life moment that truly chilled me to my bones~

Back in the 80s a Pennsylvanian politician committed suicide on live television after being convicted of bribery charges. During a press conference he pulls out a gun and shoots himself in the head. You can still find clips of it online and I remember my older brother showing me when I was a kid. Incredibly graphic and hard to fathom. Scarier than any horror movie I’ve ever seen.

Truly one of the very best. Very underrated.

Also: Hereditary. The Wailing. And lastly: They Look Like People. Absolutely terrifying.

Oh yes! Creep's trailer haunted me as a kid, then I watched it at 13 and found it to be quite scary. Rewatching it later, while the first half may be suspenseful, it's kinda sloppy and illogical: the London subway has an emergency mechanism in every station that prevents people from being stuck inside them, so the whole premise falls apart lol

I watched that tape, and the after effects was very.. pour. I don't want to explain it and I can't spoiler anything on mobile, but i hope you catch my drift. :bradley: Did you watch the Ricardo Lopez tapes?

For anyone curious about scary movies, here's my list where you may find something interesting to watch:  https://www.imdb.com/list/ls089647272/

It's in alphabetical order but imdb changes it depending on the viewer's country, so it may get messy
