Coolio, the Grammy-winning rapper best known for the 1995 single Gangsta's Paradise, died Wednesday at the age of 59.

The rapper's longtime manager, Jarel Posey, confirmed the news to several news outlets, including Rolling Stone and the Los Angeles Times. Coolio was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor at a friend's house, Posey told TMZ, which first reported the news.

No cause of death has been announced, but cardiac arrest is suspected, Posey told TMZ.

OMG. I can't believe it. So sad. EVERYONE was obsessed with Gangsta's Paradise when it came out, and it still sounds great today. And of course it gave us one of Weird Al's best parodies. RIP Coolio.

I know he's most known for "Gangsta's Paradise." Still, when he debuted with "Fantastic Voyage" in 1994, he was a welcome counterweight to Gangsta Rap. "Too Hot" and "1, 2, 3, 4" were also smash hits that saw considerable rotation on MTV. His last huge single, "C U When U Get There," was one of the summer's biggest hits in my country in 1997. This song, which sampled on my favorite list https://wealthyliving.com/rick-ross-net-worth/ of classical music, "Canon in D Minor" by Pachelbel, was the soundtrack to the finest and most carefree summer of my childhood (along with "The Fat of the Land" - I guess I was an omnivorous youngster).
