As a Greek it feels weird and funny to pay any homage to Royals. We fought very hard to get rid of them and their stupid wastefulness lifestyle and political disturbances.

Any obsession to anyone who was just born to be King or Queen is useless and unfounded. They were just lucky to be born royals and they have nothing to do with patriotism and homeland, they are just ordinary people. If you care about your country, vote, don’t pollute your area, spread love and kindness, help other people, support charities etc.

The same thing applies to presidents, superstars, high priests.

We don’t need a Messiah, we, each one of us, are a Messiah for everybody.

When we're not together tell me everything's gonna be alright

A president serving a max of 8 years is a bit different to a Queen serving 70 YEARS.

I'm not a royalist at all but I can understand it's a big thing to some people tbh

I live next door in Ireland and if it was possible to have less than zero interest in something then that would be the level of my interest in the Royal Family. But I'm not surprised by the reaction in the UK. 70 years is a long time, and the woman has been everpresent in most British people's lives. I imagine lots of people feel like a part of them has died. For many people, she would be a link to their childhood, and possibly even to their late parents or grandparents.
