He has so many dates, as a singer I totally understand. Voice is such a fragile thing even if it's trained. It's crazy how these people can do SO SO many dates! To me the surprising thing would be for them to NEVER have to cancel.

Listen to my debut pop single 'Want You Bad'! (link on Insta)

I'd lipsync my way through the show but that's me. I hope he feels better and the people who attended get at least some of the money they spent.

Kindness rules all.

That was brave of him to do, to talk to the crowd and announce the cancellation. Just curious, dont they usually do vocal warm ups beforehand or like vocal and overall health checkups...and see if there will be a problem.

warm ups, they definetely should.

Vocal health checks before each show... not realistic, they'd need to get a laryngoscopy before each show and that's... mildly invasive

Have you never been sick right before a shift at work, tried to push through it, and just had to go home partially through the shift? I get the scale is very different, but the concept is the same. And imagine if he had pushed through the set, it could have ended up hurting him even more and gotten more dates cancelled. I'd truly be devastated if I was in the fans' shoes and spent a lot of my own money, but I'd also understand.

I mean sure. I guess with Abel, there is no true solution where everyone is happy. In this case, it's just too bad. He can't help it. In other cases.... well

Aw I feel bad for him but also the people who planned this months in advance with plane tickets and hotel, work vacation days, etc. Brave of him to come out and do the announcement by himself.

I was just checking wikipedia and that was the last show for at least 3 more weeks so he has some time to rest til the next one which is in Toronto 20 days later.

I don't know how many singers do this, but vocal cooldowns after every performance are a must for performers. I remember the first time I did a vocal cool down, and my voice felt almost totally fine the day after. As that day progressed my voice was back to normal. Now this affect won't necessarily be as strong for someone on a tour, but it definitely would help.

I’m glad to see he came out onstage to personally address the crowd. I’m sure they were all gutted but I’m sure he was too, he seemed genuinely sorry and upset that he couldn’t finish the show. At least he’s offering refunds and rescheduling the date, hope his voice heals soon!

Sadly, this is the kind of thing that can happen when you're singer. It sucks but what can you do. We've all called in sick at work at some point, and for singers it means cancelling their shows. Buying a ticket to see a show is always a gamble, you never know if things will go on as planned.

definetely cool down is important and on tour some vocal rest (not full on silence) should happen

The feeling on someone who are really a good person is different, we can just feel it. I went to see him 2 times on this tour and he got a really good energy around him.
