Who’s regarded as a “new fan”?

Not that any of this really matters but I just read someone ask if another user was a “new fan” because they didn’t see the bad romance premier  and like idk if some of y’all realize this but that was 13 years ago when she was only 2 years into her career. So I guess my question is personally when is someone regarded as a “new fan” and when is some regarded as an older one? Because Id like to consider myself an older fan since I’ve been here since ARTPOP (9 years ago). But a lot of people don’t count those who weren’t here during TF/TFM as older fans

i'd like to know too. i've been here 10 years and STILL sometimes feel like a "new fan". but there shouldn't be anything wrong with being a new fan!

Crazy to think how far we are into her career. Still feels like yesterday I was staying up till midnight for born this way to be released. Almost 20 years into her career 😭😭

anyway, I guess new fans would be those who joined after the most recent releases? Idk.

and joanne - present is the new testament 

and cheek to cheek is right in the middle where Jesus died

It's quite subjective. But for me someone who's a new fan would be someone who became a fan during, say, the ASIB era. Somwhere in the last 5 years or something, idk

It'll always change. For right now September 2022 I think joining during Chromatica would be new. ASIB was 4 years ago so I don't see it as very new

I became a fan late in 2010 and I feel like a new fan because I missed TF and TFM eras.

I consider myself a new fan since I became a fan because of ASIB. However, it bothers me that new fan equals less of a fan to some people. Just because I became a fan later doesn’t make me less of a fan. (And to be honest my ex probably wouldn’t have allowed me to be a fan.) I don’t know how you measure how big of a fan someone is and guess that could be another thread entirely.

For today's standard, obviously new fans are the ones that just know her or finally into her from her recent artistic endeavors either movies or music. So this would make people who become fans during HOG or Chromatica era as the new fans

I feel like there’s 3 different types of fans

the Veteran monsters: the ones who stanned since The Fame era (2008-2009)

the OG/older fans: the ones who started stanning her during TFM

And the newer fans: anyone who started stanning after TFM

 

this is just my opinion tho
