Once again, that's because of the production, me thinks. The song itself is brilliant, indeed, but the instrumental is not it AT ALL, except for the outro

IMO it's the best produced song on Joanne! The distorted strings and reversed vocals give it so much atmosphere

It was amazing! I cannot believe I was there. Her entire speech about Texas was great. She talked about how Texas has a Purple Heart which will hopefully one day soon be blue.

The Joanne representation makes me happy, Angel Down is such a high in her discography for me so I’m happy she performed it and given the recent tragedy, makes it all the more important.

Low key glad I was not there, because once I realized she sang this for all the little angels who lost their lives I started crying. It’s beautiful, but holy f I can’t (as a mom of little ones).

The real best ballad from Joanne

The writing and the vocals on this song are just so emotional. Such an underrated song in her discography

i think some people find the vocals a bit hard to listen to…i remember when i made some locals listen to joanne they all weren’t into her tone on this song :/one was even like why is she doing a southern lisp lolol. i don’t really get that but i do agree that her tone in this song (and in dope) is very unique to so many of her other songs. it’s like…even more raw (and raspy?) than the natural voice she does in shallow.

also apologies for the lack of actual musical terminology above lol

I was there:samanthac: can confirm:cryga:

it seems like she talked a lot more than she has been? someone said she gave a speech about politics / purple states and at my show she barely said anything at all let alone ranted about politics lol

Angel Down made me even more curious to hear the music she did before Mark Ronson even got involved.

Angel Down is a big highlight in both writing and composition so I'm sure the rest of the original project was also brilliant
