I literally had no interest in Hold my Hand in the slightest

like i don't think i ever even listened to it fully

then i saw it at TCB

and now when i hear it I want to throw myself to the ground and flail around like my life depends on it :selena:

anyone else?

I feel exactly the same. The Chromatica ball performance is amazing and got me into the song.

The live version is immaculate  her energy even after signing live and dancing for two hours straight and still hitting those notes while jumping into fire

This might be an unpopular opinion but when it comes to live performances, Gaga is at her absolute PEAK right now :saira:

I think it should be the majority opinion right now, she's killing it  on a new level

the studio version is terrible. it tries so hard to replicate a 80s classic atmosphere but the instrumental sounds empty and flavorless. gaga's vocals do all the job and unfortunately they're not enough to save a terrible production.

I hope you’re kidding because that instrumental is the essence of the entire movie and it sounds perfect. I get goosebumps each time it’s played in the film.

I agree, the chorus drums and guitars are very simple, just playing out 1 big root chord note every line. I was not drawn to the studio recording, but when it's live, the single note blast PUNCHES, it's great! A song that was meant to be experienced live :legend:

I'm happy that you finally saw the light :huntyga:

I didn't have this issue tho, I was instantly in love with the song. It's such a massive, ambitious record, I'm honestly surprised it wasn't a bigger hit because it literally pulled all the stops. Then again, when you see what's currently at the top of the charts, it might be a good sign it didn't get near it...

Schwerk

Same! I could stop singing it after the Ball. And her energy and look during that song was everything, so fun to rock out with her to it.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

Yes the live version slaps! If a talented producer added strings and more electric guitars to the studio version, it would be amazing too.
