Wow love how positive this thread is lol :madge:

it's harsh but everything said on this thread is true :ohwell:

entertainment business is all about connections and knowing the "right people", when "they" are just a phone call away from your parents contacts list, what is that if not nepotism

I never thought Bjork would have a kid who is a nepotism model. She always seemed above that type of thing. Isadora obviously has the thirst in her though, and I imagine it would be hard to stop that.

SKANK

I've never been bugged by nepotism in Hollywood. It's not as if people like Liza and Jane Fonda are wielding any actual power in our socitiey. They just joined their family business, and have continued to keep their families legacy alive.

She looks great, and the commercial is beautiful.

Isadora has been working her ass off in uni, away from her entire family, studying and making her own music and other types of art. From what I've seen, Björk has had little interference in her daughter's life beyond what a regular parent does, and even Isadora's role in The Northman was literally barely visible (she was in it for like a minute or less and she sings a couple of lines and that's it) but she still had to go through the whole audition process (you can probably find a couple of videos of her talking about it online). If Björk really wanted to play the nepotism card (which is hilarious to say since not even Björk wanted to be in the movie at first and only did it because the writer and the director are both her friends and met through her and really wanted her to be in it + the movie was very historicallyand culturaly accurate so she accepted the role), she would have asked them to give her daughter an actual role that matters and not a random 2-second irrelevant role that almost no one even noticed.

Oh and Björk's son also had a short musical career, Björk could have also played the nepotism card there and given him some actual support and whatever, but she never did that because she's not that kind of person.

I'm all for dragging nepotism and people who ride in it when they're talentless and deserve none of of the exposure or success, but this is clearly not the case here and it's unfair to Isadora to say that.

Talent CAN'T be bought, "nepotism kids" fail miserably when they don't have talent because of the expectations we as a society set upon them based on their parents.

Please

They don’t really fail like normal people

they are still rich and don’t lose while trying unlike normal people who can literally go broke and missed years of their lives for trying to reach their dreams lmao

Nepotism and Talent go hand to hand in the entertainment industry

good for her and her family and if she's an actual kind human being then even better than someone who later turns out to be the opposite.

Still hate that the fact that as someone who doesn't has this network of people and ressources you'd probably never enter that sphere where she is

I'm honestly so excited for her future. She got her first acting role with The Northman and now this, and she said she loves making music and is recording something.

And the best part is that Björk refuses to interfere with her opportunities.  For The Northman, Isadora had to go through the same auditions as everyone else and Björk didnt want her to be cast just because she's her daughter.

What's Isadora's role in The Northman?

Come on now, a random teenager wouldn’t just be magically cast as the face of a luxury brand like that. The acting auditions are one thing but these brand deals are clearly because of nepotism. Real models have to slave day and night to become the face of a brand. Bjork’s daughter is no different than Kendall Jenner here.

It’s not really a role. You can see her for maybe ten seconds singing a song.

I mean... the best acting coaches, the best instrument teachers, etc. can definitely be bought, and acting is a learned skill, so I do not agree with you on that. From childhood, nepotism kids are able to get the best opportunities possible, AND the opportunity to completely focus on a craft without having to consider their living situations, compared to others who have to ACTUALLY work for it.

I guess coming from a place where we have tax-funded education in all levels, that helps balance oportunities since there's little to no cost in getting resources, we see things differently

are they tho? :poot:

Even when their parents avoid giving them easy life, or they don't have actual real talent, people outside that environment will still give them opportunities based on who their parents are.  Elite connections is something they will always have. The fact we have a lot of people who are famous for the sake of being famous because they are the business moguls heir or kids of celebrities is already testament to that. :ohwell:

there's no fame without a society consumming the "content" that famous person puts out
