The disclosure, by Defense Minister Benny Gantz, came amid tensions between Israel and Russia over the former's condemnation of the Ukraine war and the latter's scrutiny of the Jewish Agency Russian-Israel relations are on downward trajectory since the war began. Israel keeps attacking civilian infrastructure in Syria and Russia has to respond because it acts as "Assad's Syria guardian". Russia will lose credibility if it keeps allowing Israel to attack Syria. That said, both Russia and Israel have had extremely close relationship for so long. I dont see it changing too significantly in the long term. I think this will only be a temporary bad season in their relationship. The minute the Ukraine invasion is over then Israel will begin warming up to Russia again. Even if Russia annexes lands of Ukranians etc...it wont matter...a lot of nations will act like Russia has changed the minute it stops the invasion portion of this war.
