ARUTW did what is did without being a single in most of the world or anywhere in NA. I don’t even remember it being featured in any of the trailers. It’s just that good of a song that it reached the audience it did and it’s a shame Interscope didn’t take it further.

An organic WW smash nonetheless:firega:

Yeah, and it wasn't really a hit here in NA :toofunny:

Look what ur saying about organic hits happening, they do happen sometimes.

I'm not saying it can't happen. I'm saying it's highly unlikely. More often than not it doesn't happen for a song to repeal higher a lot later than when it was released. That is actually very rare. I'd say less than 1% of songs that enter the charts as singles near the top 40 and get enough exposure to be known by many people end up repealing higher months later after fizzling out. It's a very rare occurrence

Also ARUTW is a little different because it grew over time... HMH is already released as a single and got it's attention as Gaga's only song in the movie and one of the main ones no less

If it didn't catch on now, it's highly doubtful it will later. It's not impossible but it's highly unlikely. I'm not certain what exactly ur basing ur hope in :enigma:

But just because it’s not doing well in the US doesn’t mean it hasn’t caught on though :enigma:

The song is reaching new peaks almost everywhere else. It has charted in 24 countries and reached top 40 in 17 of them. It’s a legitimate hit in France, Japan, South Africa, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia and the UK.

they can't get nominated since is not the main song of the film.

They can indeed be nominated for an Oscar. It doesn't matter if the song is the main song from the film or not. The award for best original song is open to any original song for a film, and studios can submit multiple songs per film if they choose to.

As long as it plays either in the film proper or is the first song in the end credits, was recorded specifically for the film (as in it isn't a needle drop), and was recorded prior to the film's release, it is eligible for an Oscar nomination. That means that both I Ain't Worried and Hold My Hand are eligible for a nomination.

Of course the GP chooses generic, bland songs over talent. :neyde:

Can’t tell if you’re saying the GP chose HMH or not :enigma:
