yungpancake 593
Hi guys!! I feel so happy to finally be back here with all of you celebrating Chromatica again, and I'm just really glad and excited for everyone that has attended or is attending the Chromatica Ball!! So, a couple of hours ago we saw the Chromatica Ball for the first time, and as I was watching through one of the IG Lives, I think I have a steady interpretation of the story of the Ball. I'm gonna highlight the interpretation to make this quick to read so that most people won't find it a bore to read all of this haha: (PS if you wanna avoid spoilers, you might wanna skip this thread) INTERPRETATION: I think the Chromatica Ball, from how I see it, tells the story of growth, healing and radical acceptance from its themes, textures, styles and even the setlist. The show begins with its brutalist themes; from the stage design, to the 'trap' dress, to the strict color palette of gray, white, and red. As the show goes, more colors are introduced; hence the green and red during "Monster", and even more fantastical styles are presented, which explains the black outfits during 911 and Sour Candy, the ensemble in gold during Babylon, and even the Chromatica "bug mask" during Shallow and ARUTW. As we get to Stupid Love and ROM, the stage literally BECOMES Chromatica as the stage turns pink and purple with the smoke and fire effects, to the Chromatica planet details on the stage. During the monologue interlude she says " if fantasy could surely make a friend, the palette of your dreams would draw them mad. beyond the universe, you know no end." So yeah guys, the show tells the story of Chromatica: radically accepting your pain and grief, and by that you will begin to welcome healing color and imagination into your life. As a veteran monster, for me this is her best show, because of its context, subtext, storyline. I'm really glad that after all these years, you can never really seem to predict what she does next. And because of this, and for obviously many other reasons, I love her so much. P.S. I attached a tweet that has a transcription of the monologue so that you guys can read it too. https://twitter.com/scarzonreplay/status/1548819093431767041?s=21&t=Cr22bhsukwRwJDSatd0dMQ Enjoy the Chromatica Ball guys!!
