So she had a xenophobic thought, knew it was something to be embarrassed by, learned from it, and is calling herself out to acknowledge her shortcomings and show that she was wrong.

Besides simply not saying it at all, it seems to me like this was the next best way to handle the topic.

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

It's a weird thought process, so because you come from a country outside of the US, you are not sophisticated? And because you're not from the US, you are inexperienced? And you have dreams but because your country is different, it means you are not intelligent enough, not talented enough to make them come true? Wow, very weird way of thinking

That’s American Exceptionalism for you.

I love her but... why did she say that? :selena:

At least she's embarrased for thinking like that :bear:

This seems like a raw thought that maybe needed more of a filter before being expressed to the press. The way I read it, she’s not suggesting she was unsophisticated due to being from Cuba, but rather unsophisticated because she was young and new to the business. Still comes across poorly, but I don’t think it was intentionally race based.

I can't stand her. She's always so condescending, even in the interview with Gaga.

She did an interview with Neve Campbell and was insufferable-- so condescending. A shame b/c Halloween is one of my fave movies.

Why anyone would say that in an interview? Ignorant and proud? What's wrong with these people?
