Thoughs on Richey and LaurieAnn

Hot take: fans need to just let this go for now, she's not going to be able to fire Richey a week before Chromatica Ball unless he like straight up s*xu*lly assaulted someone (which as far as I know, he hasn't done anything like that). He sounds like a horrible person, but unless he's s*xually or physically violent I can not see her being able to fire him with the tour literally starting in less than a week and fans are insane to think that she could do so... This is getting viral, and the one who is going to get hurt by this is Gaga, too. Can not think of another fan base who would act this way....

And here's where I'll get slammed...Richey is clearly sh*tty. But this fanbase has a section of racist people and I'm really grossed out by some of the low key racist **** being slung at him on twitter. And the viral rumor that he's a Trump supporter (which is based on nothing)....it does not sit well with me that a lot of non Black gays are accusing an openly gay Black man of being a Trumper. Someone being sh*tty isn't an excuse to be racist or abusive on the internet.

And LaurieAnn sucks and treated Gaga shabbily even if she later was civil-some fans going in her mentions and praising her just because she hates Richey...yikes.

Legitimately people wonder why Gaga stays off social media...it's this type of sh*t imo.

Stans are like a mob, I swear. Letting their own speculation and assumptions get them riled up enough to attack and harass people online.

My opinion on this whole matter is I trust Gaga and her team to handle the "Lady Gaga" brand. If that means firing Richy, cool. If that means cycling through dozens of dancers until you get a team that can work well with him, whatever.

The only job I have is to enjoy the shows and listen to the music I like. We can trust Gaga and her people to handle everything else.

The fans who want her back are either:

1) Not OG monsters who were around to witness that time period of toxicity

OR

2) are the constant “I want old Gaga back” crowd

if you were around back then and love modern Gaga and her well-being you wouldn’t push a Laurianne comeback. Also nothing against the choreo from back then (cause I love it) but anyone can choreograph the bad romance movements, it’s not that complicated

Good point (re: 2). I'm just appalled (need to start staying off fan twitter again lol) by the a) racism from a section of fans and b) the straight up abuse and c) so many of them flocking to LaurieAnn and d) the wording to make it sound like Gaga is the issue.

Like I don't doubt Gaga had some issues back during the era when she and LaurieAnn split and wasn't blameless, but LaurieAnn also treated her poorly in the media and sh*t on her back then when the media was already tearing her apart.

I hope they keep this internally and If Richy needs to go then let him go after the tour. Realistically, firing the choreographer before the tour starts is even a messier affair.

These fans should stop adding fuel to the fire and let Gaga and her haus deal with it on their own. It's sad how this is only coming out now, especially days before the start of CBT, when it's been happening for a long time apparently. Hope the CBT won't be badly affected and wish the new dancers slays the house down boots

It's... interesting.

Laurieann was tough, but her staging was great. She knew how to fill a layout and have everyone positioned where they should be and it was visually very appealing. Yeah, it could have been simplified for Gaga (and it should have been), but for professional dancers who don't need to worry about vocals, it was fantastic.

When it comes to Richy, I was never a fan to be honest. He's not choreographing for some world class dance competition (not that he can/should), he's choreographing for a pop star.... you either follow the melody of the vocal or the music and make it memorable for fans/the public. His choreo is so random and I can never figure out a proper 8 count.

Fans have been begging for a change for some time now, and this just add fuel to the flames.

This is honestly giving shades of Ellen Degeneres. At the end of the day Gaga is the face of the entire production. It’s somewhat understandable if she was insulated from the behind the scenes drama but now that it’s coming to light she needs to move swiftly and put her money where her mouth is considering she preaches kindness.

What do you mean "based on nothing"? A person from the industry called him out and if I'm sure if he wanted to make stories up to get attention, he would've chosen someone more relevant than Richy.

I think what the op is getting at is that you cant replace richy on such a short notice
