I live in this US and I can tell you it's conservatives. The right wants to go back to when America was "great again, and the best country ever" which is like the 1940s. It always feels like the school system are following the rule to like you but deep inside you can feel they don’t. This doesn’t shock me but it definitely scares me that they’d want to erase such a crucial part of American history. It’s like they are embarrassed by it and don’t want it to be seen. Yet they LOVE teaching the holocaust. It’s sad and I doubt it will pass. They love keeping things like statues of confederates up but don’t want to say the word slavery? My industry (software engineering) means I should aim to work in California at some point, and I’m starting to think I should just give up.
