Welcome to the Tour FAQ thread. Please read through this OP before posting a new thread. If you have a question that's not really thread-worthy, ask it here and someone will answer it for you. If you think of anything I've missed, please post and I'll add it to the OP!

Special thanks to Famous and the many people posting in Tour. If your tour thread has been locked/moved/stolen/kidnapped, it is because I tried to roll all of our posts together, and consolidate all of the tour information in one simple place. So basically thanks for helping me build this database! :sara:

PACKAGES:

  Reveal hidden contents

With a package ticket, you will have different entrances and places to go. When you arrive at your venue there will be a tent outside where you check in (be sure to bring your ID) and collect your Merchandise Pack. They will tell you where to go, and what to do. For more information, your ticket provider will email you a details page with more details including times, venue, where to go etc.

TICKET BROKERS:

  Reveal hidden contents

Ticket Brokers (scalpers) are sometimes considered a bad thing, because they can drive up ticket prices in sold-out shows. But some of us just can't plan our lives months in advance to be in a certain city on a certain day with certain people. So we have to buy our tickets late. If you are going to use a Ticket Broker, here are some tips.

Pick a reputable seller.

eBay

  Reveal hidden contents

eBay's service charges are slightly lower than most Ticket Brokers, so you can save a few dollars buying tickets on eBay. The downside of eBay is that they don't have extra broker services, like holding tickets or finding replacement tickets at the last second.

But if you buy from a reputable seller on eBay who has more than 100 sales and 99.9% positive feedback, you'll be fine! Check that these sales are for higher priced items as well.

Street Scalpers

  Reveal hidden contents

Right outside of the stadium or arena, there are always people scalping tickets on the street. This is illegal in many cases, so they might be very quiet about it and just hold up a sign saying "Tickets".

As long as you know what legit tickets look like, and they have the little hologram seal and everything, then buying tickets this way is pretty safe. If you see a scalper sell a ticket to someone, and then that scalper doesn't run away, then they've probably got good tickets.

Others

  Reveal hidden contents

There are lots of other ticket brokers on the internet. It's hard to say which are reputable without doing some digging. But I've never had a problem with these other sites.

Fans

  Reveal hidden contents

One great way to get tickets late is to be your own scalper. Stand way outside the venue (on a major sidewalk where fans are coming in) and hold a sign that says "Extra Tickets?". There are always people who had a friend or someone who couldn't make the show, and they have a spare ticket. Usually they only have one, so you and your friends might not end up sitting together, but it's better than nothing, and it saves money.

eTickets

  Reveal hidden contents

Some tickets are called "eTickets" and they are just a PDF document that you download and print. This is very convenient, but it also makes it easy to make lots of copies of your eTicket. So on rare occasion a dishonest seller will sell the same PDF to lots of buyers.

If you get an eTicket, then show up at the venue super early so that you are in line ahead of anyone else who might also have that same ticket. The first one to get their ticket scanned wins! Also, be sure to bring any documentation of the purchase you might have if you're worried your ticket is counterfeit.

Delayed Tickets

  Reveal hidden contents

It's unfortunately common that a promoter will not send purchased tickets out in the mail until a week or two before the show. So you might purchase tickets where the seller says they will mail you the tickets when they get them. This is legit, but it can lead to a lot of nail-biting if your tickets don't arrive until the day before the show! The tickets can be Fed-Ex'd overnight in most cases.

If you haven't heard from the seller by two weeks before the show, be sure to remind them with an e-mail or have StubHub do a status check.

Long-Distance Scalping

  Reveal hidden contents

You want to buy tickets to a show in another country, but many sellers are nervous about selling tickets overseas, especially if the promoter is holding the tickets until the week before the show. Mail sent across countries can be difficult to have rushed. A letter from the UK to the US usually takes three or four days, but sometimes it takes 10+ days because it gets held up in customs for some random reason.

Your best bet is to have the tickets delivered to someone you know in that other country. If you are buying through Stub Hub they can hold the tickets at the StubHub office. Or you can have the tickets delivered to your hotel. Call your hotel and ask them for instructions for how to best address a letter for delivery to a guest.

Verifying ID's.

  Reveal hidden contents

I've been to over 20 Gaga balls, and well over 100 concerts in overall, and only once did they ever check my ID to make sure it matched the name on the ticket, and that was because there was a death threat against the artists. So I wouldn't worry about that too much. Most physical tickets don't even have a name on them, but eTickets always do.

HOW TO TELL IF A TICKET IS REAL:

  Reveal hidden contents

How Does It Look? [With Pics]

Check the Venue, Performer, Date and Time:

  Reveal hidden contents

It sounds kind of silly, but there are several reasons you should check into these details. For example, if Gaga is playing in Chicago 2 nights, someone may try to sell you their ticket or pdf from the night before, or just a fake ticket with the wrong details.

Learn Your Venue's Seating Chart:

  Reveal hidden contents

A lot of scam artists will modify tickets. They will actually use good tickets which will permit entry, but will change the section and row. If someone is selling Front Row tickets, say the Front Row is Floor 1, Row A and they have tickets that say Floor 1, Row 1, then it should set off a signal that the tickets may be modified since the venue uses letters for the rows instead of numbers.

If you are permitted entry with a modified ticket, someone else with the real tickets will be sitting in the seats you think you own. The venue manager will pull both parties aside, make a quick decision which will usually end up with the person who does not have proof of purchase being escorted out of the building. Be sure to bring your ID's and any proof of purchase you may have with you into the concert.

Know The Market:

  Reveal hidden contents

If someone is selling tickets for $25 a pair and similar tickets are selling for $500, then be cautious. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

NOTE:

  Reveal hidden contents

The sad truth:

If you're not the original purchaser of the tickets, there is ALWAYS a chance that the ticket may not grant you entry into the venue.

Say you buy tickets online. You're not the original buyer, but a secondary buyer. IF the original buyer sells tickets to you, then reports them lost or stolen, Ticketmaster will invalidate your tickets and issue new ones which will be held at Will Call in the name of the original purchaser. There is nothing you can do to prevent this from happening. For this reason, it is much safer to buy from a reputable company rather than a random stranger. Use a credit card when you can. This way, if the tickets are bogus, you can file a chargeback. Cash is untraceable.

KEEPING YOUR TICKETS SAFE:

  Reveal hidden contents

DO NOT POST ANY PHOTOS OF YOUR TICKETS ONLINE, WHAT SO EVER.

I've seen a lot of people doing this lately, especially on Facebook and LittleMonsters.com. Scammers looking to sell fake tickets are seeking these photos out all over the internet. By posting photos of your tickets online, you're basically giving them all the information they need to make a replica. They can use your tickets as a guide to make fake ones (Example, the dates, times, seats, prices, and overall look of your ticket) AS WELL AS RIPPING OFF YOUR BARCODE + SEATS. Yep! They can Photoshop your unique barcode right off of your ticket, and make an exact copy to sell to someone else. These tickets will scan and permit entry. Imagine getting to your seats and there's someone already in them? Or more likely, being denied at the door because your ticket has already been used?

If you've already posted photos, your best bet is to remove them as soon as possible, and bring all documentation and your ID to the show in the (mildly rare) event a problem should arise.

THE MONSTER PIT:

  Reveal hidden contents

Capacity:

The Monster Pit in arenas can hold 400-500 people.

In stadiums the capacity is higher, around 1,000 can go in the pit.

There is a Monster Pit line that is separate from the normal GA line, and the first 500-or however many that venue can hold get in the pit. THAT'S IT. There is no rule for dressing up or anything else, no one scrutinizes your outfit, it's just everyone with a GA ticket who gets a Monster Pit wristband that gets in.

There is also a separate line for those who have the Government Hooker package (includes early entrance to the GA floor, outside the Monster Pit).

There is enough room to turn around and dance in the Monster Pit.

Note: if you have a Government Hooker ticket you can still get into the Monster Pit if you wish. The Government Hooker package includes a GA ticket. So to get into the Monster Pit, you just line up in the Monster Pit line. You obviously then forfeit your early admittance that is included in the package, but you still get your merch either before or after the show (check with venue staff)

When they let you into the Monster Pit you are walked in. People aren't supposed to run, but people do, and it just creates chaos.

CAMPING:

  Reveal hidden contents

Official Rules:

What actually happens:

Depending on the venue and how strict they are in enforcing the "8 AM rule", there are usually people lined up for the Monster Pit at the very least 1 day in advance. Some venues don't mind campers, while some venue security actually tell anyone who tries to camp that they have to leave or they risk disqualification.

The best thing to do if you had camping in mind is to just gage the situation with the local venue and security staff. Oftentimes when a venue is being strict with the no camping rule, people start forming a line slightly OFF venue property and move at 8AM.

Lately, monsters waiting have been writing numbers on each others hands starting with the first person who arrives and numbering everyone who arrives thereafter…this helps to keep track of the line and who's first and also enables it so that people are able to leave their spot in line to go the bathroom or get food and come back to their place. Obviously, this is not an "official" place holder, but it's been working at shows and fans gernally respect it. It works great if you can get something organized like this at your show amongst yourselves, security often respects and encourages it, and it helps keep things fair.

THE MONSTER KEY:

  Reveal hidden contents

If you're fortunate enough to be the first Monster in line, at some point during the day a staff member from Gaga's team will come and get you…at which point it becomes pretty much "official" that you are indeed the first and the key holder. They'll take you away from the line for a little bit and they take you to go sign the big key and get your picture with it. They'll tell you you can bring 3 people backstage with you and give instructions on when and how to leave the pit: after The Edge of Glory, and to the right of the stage. There will be a guy waiting there that will recognize you as the key holder + 3, as the keyholder and his people don't have backstage wristbands like the people Gaga chooses during the show do. Gaga herself awards you the actual key necklace when you meet her backstage.

BACKSTAGE:

  Reveal hidden contents

If Gaga picks you during the show to go backstage, a security guard will approach you and put a wristband on you.

You exit the pit to the right after The Edge of Glory and meet with the other people going backstage, the key holder etc. They let you watch the end of the show from side stage, and then a security guard lines everybody up and will bring you to a room backstage where you have to fill out a form with your email address and other details so that they can email you your photo with Gaga.

A guard will go over some rules with everyone about meeting Gaga-- no cameras, one autograph, don't ask for 'weird' photos, and you can give her gifts but just run them by security first.

Depending on how much time Gaga has and the amount of people backstage you'll either meet her in a group, or individually. Generally the meet n' greets take place in her dressing room on her bed. The key holder followed by their 3 people always goes first.

Check out this thread for information about the actual merchandise: http://gagadaily.com...showtopic=27875

Stands are usually open after the show if you don't want to bring stuff with you into the show. However, some items may sell out so if theres something you're set on getting, plan ahead on when you can buy it, and how you will carry it. You can also buy some of the tour merch online via Lady Gaga's official website.

OPENING ACTS:

Madeon, Lady Starlight, and towards the end of the tour, Zedd replaces Medeon. You can check who is opening for your specific show via littlemonsters.com

TIPS:

  Reveal hidden contents

Getting Presale ready:

If you have never used the website you plan on buying tickets from, try practicing with a show (doesn't even have to be Gaga) you don't plan on going to, and walking yourself through the process up until payment to get a feel for what you have to do on the big day.

On the actual day:

If the section you wanted (example) GA is sold out, keep refreshing the page and trying. Ticketmaster places a "hold" on your tickets (for like 2 minutes) after you enter the CAPTCHA so that you can review your purchase and pay. Many hardcore fans are using multiple computers to get the best seats they can find, or people messed up or changed their mind, etc. This ties up a lot of tickets at the start, but these tickets will be let go and up for sale again once their timer runs out. This is what you are waiting and refreshing for.

Will Call:

If you select the will call option when buying tickets, chances are you need to bring the specific credit card you purchased them on and your ID to the venue to pick up your tickets. This means if a parent, friend, relative, etc. bought them for you, they might have to come pick them up for you. However, sometimes a venue will let you "add" people to the list of who can pick up those tickets. Check with your venue to see what you need to aquire your tickets in advance to avoid any surprises!

Some venues are allowing tickets purchased with the will call option to be mailed to your house. Check with your retailer for information about getting them mailed to you.

ARTPOP Gypsy

I have a question about the Pit with the U.S. dates. So if you look on her official site at the tour dates there is an * next to the shows that are not going to have a Pit. None of the U.S. dates have the *. I thought there were only a certain amount of keys they were going to give out. It looks to me like every U.S. date will have one.

I'm sorry but I'm new here, this may be stated somewhere else but. I looked and couldn't find any answers. Is the tour going to ad more North American dates?? I want her to come to Cleveland. I would think she would to US cities....
