No concrete information Moldova is in danger, Romanian president says

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said there is no concrete information that Moldova will be threatened military or become a next target of the Russian Federation. At the same time, he acknowledged that the provocations in Transnistria are worrying and that Romania supports Moldova's ascension to EU. This was said in the context of a meeting with Germany's president Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Something to keep in mind - Romania has a particularly close relation with Moldova and 25% of Moldova's population has Romanian citizenship.

Would the EU accept Moldavia that quickly tho? 
With all the commotion in EU countries when Greece had its massive economic crisis, and when Romania joined, I remember people being so worried and not so welcoming of new countries joining their unions.
Will EU accept Moldavia into their group to protect it from some possible attacks ?

Well many may say that possible new conflict at EU's borders, involving a new country and setting the conditions for a new refugee and diplomatic crisis would probably bring more instability than a new country joining EU.

That said, Moldova's institutions are not close to being adapted to EU standards, neither are Georgia's or Ukraine's, so it's fairly obvious they won't be acepted too soon.

But Moldova has something the other 2 countries don't have, which is that its closest ally in already in the EU and can try to influence the course of actions in its favour. Ultimately, Moldova has the option of ''instant membership'' by merging with Romania and having all its institutions, currency etc replaced with Romania's, which are already adapted to EU standards.

Also it must be said that Greece had a massive economic crisis after it joined the Eurozone, with experts saying it was not ready to switch to the Euro. In 2007 Romania and Bulgaria entered EU, but not the Eurozone. Whenever Moldova joins, it will be outside of the Eurozone just like Romania and Bulgaria.
