Just deactivated my account. I hope people actually take action and leave the platform. Removing the app isn’t enough, they need to see accounts close.

I love twitter but I don't really get how him buying it is going to negatively affect us that much ? I see so many people freaking out and I don't really understand why...

I love it

Great for free speach indeed, i like him

I've seen people saying this, what exactly was Twitter censoring that didn't cross the line? Personally I've viewed twitter as the most lenient of the big social medias.

He’s going to let Trump back on. This is not good at all.

Apparently Trump just said in a Fox News interview that he won’t return to Twitter even if Elon lifts his ban and will use his own app instead. But considering Truth Social has completely dropped off almost entirely and has been out for months now, I see it doubtful :nooo: but I agree there should be a serious concern about what Elon is going to do about Trump and other high profile officials who got banned.

They really think Elon is spending 44 billion just to allow Trump return to Twitter.

Interesting. I mean I'm not a Trump supporter but I don't think him having access to a Twitter account will cause anymore harm than the other platforms he already has and has had access to.

Well, that’s good at least!! But you’re right, still super concerning.

I hate it so much when people bring up the "free speech" in relation to social media, because at this point, it's become a trigger word that it's lost so much of its value.

99.9% of the time, people who invoke the "free speech" argument are only doing it because they're butthurt that people disagree with their takes/opinions. "Free speech" does not entail freedom of consequence and things like misinformation and hate speech should not be protected because of something like "free speech." Like, if we're talking about real social or political issues, someone spreading blatant misinformation or using their platform to promote discrimination against minority groups isn't ok and the fact that those people use "free speech" as a way to defend their actions is so sickening and frustrating because that's not what it means!!

Also, free speech is a two-way street. Like I said, 99.9% of the time, people only invoke that argument because they're butthurt that people disagree with their opinions. Well, people are equally allowed to disagree with your opinions just as you are allowed to make those opinions, so what gives? People can't use "free speech" when it only benefits them.
