Billboard limited 1 digital copy of album/single per purchase and it will be only counted once and won't be counted again if you buy it again the next week, month, etc.

• Multiple Copies (Digital) - Only 1 purchase of any UPC or ISRC will be counted per customer. If a customer buys more than 1 unit of any particular UPC or ISRC, the sale will be adjusted down to 1 unit.️Please note, this limitation does NOT reset after a certain period of time.

• Multiple Copies (Physical) - If a fan purchases up to 4 copies of a record, each copy is reported as an official sale. If a fan purchases 5 to 9 copies, this results in 4 charting album sales. Purchases of 10 or more albums constitutes a bulk sale, and none count towards the Billboard charts. ️Please note, only 4 physical copies of a UPC may be reported PER CUSTOMER. Multiple orders by the same customer that add up to more than 4 copies purchased will not result in more than 4 copies reporting.

• Digital song covers can continue to have alternative digital covers that have been acceptable in the past, which may include static images, but NOT a digital signature or any other virtual enhancement.

• Digital album covers can continue to have alternative digital covers that have been acceptable in the past, which may include static images, including printed static "digital signatures."

• Artist Signatures on pre-packaged physical singles are also NOT allowable.

• Artist Signatures on pre-packaged physical albums are allowable if the signature is contained on the booklet or album packaging and not part of a loose item distributed along with the album.

Me waiting for a smart one to explain if there are some big differences and how those will affect Gaga

We're living on a dying floating rock in space. It baffles me that we as a species are getting into such trivial details. It also puts in perspective that a "#1 album" has never just 1 meaning, and stan wars to buy copies etc is just helping capitalism, and for what? for an abstract place on a made-up list?

We need to grow up...

But I sometimes gift physical albums to more than 4 friends.

I live outside the space time continuum.

And that's ok. Just be sure that you have no more than 9 friends

If this has something to do with BTS fandom then it's silly. They played by Billboard's rules and got their singles to the top of the charts the way it's intended to happen.. with bulk sales.

A lot of my friends are jazz musicians, so C2C and LFS are perfect gifts.

How can I create an alternate account that they can't detect it's the same person?

That's easy then.  I thought they might use the internet ID of the computer.

Yeah, if you have four credit cards, you can then, theoretically, buy 16 copies that would count for the charts.

I doubt this will affect Gaga's numbers all that much. She is one of few artists that actually sells copies, both physical and digital, of her work, rather than leaning exclusively on streaming like Drake.

That said, I do think it's going to hurt the industry overall because it's going to force more and more physical releases which, in turn, will lead to more leaks. (See: Harry Styles)

they should have done that when BTS were snatching so many weeks at #1 and blocking Good 4 U from having more weeks....I love BTS but the amount of weeks they got at #1 last year was insane and unfair because it was almost all due to massive sales campaigns from fans and bots

Hopefully it can help for a more fair charting

And also, WHEW!! THE WAY WE WIN with this part!

• Artist Signatures on pre-packaged physical albums are allowable if the signature is contained on the booklet or album packaging and not part of a loose item distributed along with the album.

This new trend is dirty, cos many of them are only a piece of separate paper instead of a booklet, and with printed on autograph too, we don't want it! :triggered:

If artists wanna sell signed albums, best believe they need to actually signed each one of them and give fans the value of money :golfclap:
