pachinko 10,376
Johnny Depp could have doubled these figures.
huttont 5,253
Me wife and I are such huge HP fans and we literally have zero desire to see this movie. This series had such potential and I’m bummed that I’m not excited
SEANGT 5,265
It just looks so bad. Regardless of the controversies. This series looks boring and convoluted. There is no hype. They shouldn't throw any more money at this. Even the original beasts film made less money than they expected.
Anderson123 38,221
I'm just happy Scream managed to do so well in the middle of the Omicron wave when theaters were closing and some countries were going into lockdown again. Such a miracle for a horror movie to break that record. As for Fantastic Beasts, I'm not a huge fan of Harry Potter but it's a third movie, a spin off, no Johnny Depp, JK Rowling mess, pandemic numbers, etc. It wasn't gonna do better than the first two. There was like no hype at all. I also haven't watched it yet but The Northman was released this weekend too and plan to watch that one first, seems like a more interesting movie. It’s easily the best in the franchise. The new Grindelwald is seriously a massive improvement, too. Plus a new writer for the script.

But I wasn't looking at competitors, I was looking at the hp franchise. Obviously there are an abundance of other reasons why this movie won't be as successful, namely Jk Rowlings incredibly problematic online behaviours. But I was simply stating that the pandemic was a large factor that was not present for the previous films. excuse me no

Karl 3,394
As a massive potter fan, thought this was an amazing film. It felt more like a book when watching it, very well written with a lot of details for fans.

The original HP books created a lot of hype for the later films and gave viewers a taste of what to expect. With this series it just feels like "what could they possibly do now" but in the most dreadful way.
