This is such a clickbait claim lmao NO films are opening that well post-pandemic. Plus it's a holiday weekend.

Here are the year's top 10 highest grossing films in the US so far:

1. The Batman (Warner Bros) $365,035,121

2. Uncharted (Sony) $144,985,555

3. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Paramount) $119,612,388

4. Scream $81,641,405

5. The Lost City $78,575,759

6. Morbius (Sony) $65,118,131

7. Dog (MGM) $61,394,519

8. Jackass Forever (Paramount) $57,743,451

9. Death on the Nile (20th Century Studios) $45,610,165

10. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (Warner Bros) $43,000,000

In the grand scheme of things the movie is doing fine, and will probably get at least one more greenlit. Fans are loving the movie and while I haven't seen it yet I plan on going this week :reductive:

Spider-man No Way Home broke the pandemic excuse.

Let's just say the truth:

1. The 2nd movie didn't help to make the GP and many fans come and see the 3rd.

2. JK drama.

3. Johnny Depp / Amber Heard / WB drama - WB fired Depp and kept Heard in Aquaman 2.

So in one movie they angered the LGBTQ+ community and allies, HP fans, Depp fans and the 2nd couldn't make the GP engage to the series and see the 3rd.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Sorry but is the pandemic still really a thing where you live?

I don’t know how much the Rowling drama affected the box office but I doubt it made a big dent. What’s really killing this series is how drab it is.

Like others pointed out, it's still pretty solid given the state of the market. Plus, one would've expected controversies and limited promo to hurt it much more. I don't know if this will be enough to warrant a 4th movie, but I hope they get to finish the story they wanted to tell.

I think the problem is that its is all based on a textbook just mentioned in the HP books, and that the first movie was about the fantastic beasts and Newt, but that they now also try to tell the whole Grindelwald vs Dumbledore thing. That is such a cool story to explore, and I think many would love to see it, but not in a way where Newt and his beasts are forced into the story and giving them a way to big role. It just doesnt fit. A film or a trilogy about the whole Grindelwald vs Dumbledore story and the wizarding war is such a cool idea for really dark and adult movies, but they ruined it in my opninion

This series in  an incomprehensible mess. JK hasn't written any decent Potter media since Deathly Hallows. Also, antagonizing your fanbase on Twitter every day isn't really a good idea... :laughga:

I love to see her lose. Stuff your 6 seconds of queerbait that fans waited 15 years to see.

edit: coming from someone who was a massive Potterhead. Read the original book series upon release, and grew up alongside the characters.
