Tyler1992 2,161 Posted April 14, 2022 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Since Gaga went into acting, she was rumoured to be considered for different roles, Ursula in the Little Mermaid, Cleopatra in the Denis Villeneuve role, Black Canary in Birds of Prey, and even dropped out of Bullet Train. I was curious if there are any I’m missing? I find it fascinating the roles she takes, she’s very choosy in her projects. This leads me to another question, how would being in films that have been made affected her career? I'll never get over her not working with QT, but she was incredibly busy around that time and probably wasn't as interested in acting at that point in her career. I had no idea about the Django Unchained Role!! I really want Gaga to work with Tarantino, they are a match made in heaven. Was this confirmed anywhere? Django Unchained and Born This Way would have been so conflicting, I’m glad she went in the direction she did. Born This away is the ethos of who Gaga is, a role like that during that moment would have taken away from it. I forgot about ACS, I remember Gaga being attached. I would only see her taking a heightened role like Cate Blanchet Well, I consider the rumor true once Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes out and Charlize Theron is in it as Clea. As far as I know, both her and Gaga got offered a part by Marvel around the time Doctor Strange was going into production. However, both (initially) declined the offer. However, the original director left, Sam Raimi took over, rewrites took place... My theory is that Marvel went with Rachel McAdams - who originally wasn't set to reprise her role as Christine Palmer - and decided to make her a Clea Variant (the concept as introduced in the series Loki) instead of making her a new character. However, new rumors have popped up recently that suggest Charlize Theron will appear as Clea for a cameo. If true, it means that Marvel was able to negotiate a deal with her (when the cameras were already rolling). Doctor Strange had a lot of reshoots, so scrapping the 'Christine Palmer as a Clea Variant' idea doesn't seem like a big deal. Ok... lot of text... but I guess what I wanted to say if Charlize Theron indeed appears in the movie, I consider the rumors that Gaga was offered a part as true. I watched a snippet performed at the Olivier Awards from the West End live version, and it had GaGa’s name written all over it! The lyrics, character and voice! I love the MCU, so this is so friggen cool to hear. Sarah Finn is the casting director and has nailed it every time.
