Obviously after the disaster with Ukraine I dont think Russia has any man power to try another assault on a neighboring state but yeah...I know their little exclave is full of missiles.... Not to also paint the devil on the wall, but if you measure from the north-western tip of Kaliningrad to Gotland island, the distance is even smaller.. Gotland (Swedish territory) has a special strategic value in the context of the Baltic Sea, Russia having it under control would allow it to project its influence over the whole sea and contain what is sees as NATO encroachment from this direction.. We are not secure from Russian aggression. If Russia is desperate enough, they will try to take Gotland before we even get the chance to join.
