A more interesting music producer(s) should have co-produced the album. I totally appreciate Bloodpop for making this album a possibility and it has many great moments and atmospherics, but I find his overall style quite bland. Melodically the songs are a little flat and often don’t lead anywhere, carried mainly by Gaga’s excellent vocals. Plus the final choruses of many of the songs should definitely have hit harder with some big high-notes in the background like Judas etc.

I personally would have liked more ‘big moments’ on the album, and more imaginative ideas put into it. More melodies and harmonies and exotic synths etc that live up to the artwork better. Plus more vocal effects and experimentation. Oh and better bridges overall (I’m looking at you Plastic Doll, 1000 Doves and Stupid Love).

Electronic music has limitless possibilities atm with the incredible technology and talent we have, and in pop I feel Gaga is definitely one who could explore that with fantastic ideas.

Imagine if SOPHIE (RIP) had produced 911. I-   Or if Flume had produced Free Woman?

But the overall structure of the album is excellent - especially with those gorgeous interludes and the fantastic album artwork. One of her best.

Oh and I personally don’t care for the music videos (accept 911). I would have preferred the visual themes to be more like the PAPER Mag photoshoot. Way more nuanced and futuristic than the dated cyberpunk we got.

Looks so sad, what is this saga?
I've been hurting, stuck inside a cage

I don't need a reason (Oh) :queenga:

I'm not so bothered about the lyrics, but more the structure. Imo they're some of her blandest bridges, and Gaga normally pulls off incredible bridges. (Pokerface, JD, Bad Romance, DITD, MTN, Guy, MJH, PI etc the list goes on).

Plastic Doll is one of the highlights of that album

Its acclaim comes less from Gaga’s contributions and more from Bloodpop’s tbh

Solid album, didn’t really add to Gaga lore.

Free Woman demo > album version.

Imo one of her strongest albums, more cohesive than all her past ones.

It really should’ve been visual album as the interludes/MV we saw were her best since MTN.

Fun Tonight is one of Gaga’s best songs ever. 1000 Doves (Piano Version) and Love Me Right should’ve been on the album, rather than target exclusives

1000 Doves (Piano Version) > Million Reasons, Dope, etc. On the same level as Always Remember Us This Way, Speechless, etc.
