If someone doesn't believe that Madonna mistreated Gaga at the beginning of her career, check this video out. This video truly makes me sad, even as a Madonna fan. She was trying to be the only female performer out there and couldn't handle the fact that she's not the only one and has to share her space with other amazing artists.

Everyone going deep into the well it's not a big deal etc. comments are missing the point, gaga talked about how she was treated while being new on the scene and how she never wanted to be that for someone else, she never named anyone and it was never about her but rather a comment on how she felt and never wanted to ever be the reason somebody else felt that way which is why she tries to be supportive of her peers especially new artists. Stop making it something it's not please y'all are exhausting sometimes 🤣💀

And I'd note that A LOT of legends do love Gaga and the handful of legends who shaded her had a history (for the most part) of shading many celebrities (like Grace, she is an icon, but she has also literally trashed nearly every major female musician of the past two decade...and one of the infamous quotes where people thought she was going after Gaga (she went after Gaga another time) was actually about Mariah).

So Grace Jones is like the more successful version of Azealia Banks.

 

I also came across refently that Madonnna and Michael Jackson went on a date and apparently Madonna left a bad taste to Michael because she was rude to people also I think Cher said the same thing to Madonna on an interview.

She's also shaded Madonna a few times after this. There doesn't seem to be any more bad blood between them but no one can deny that Madonna ALWAYS had an attitude problem

In Madonna’s 40 years career, plenty of people have mistreated, bullied, and consistently harrassed Madonna in the media, but people love to consistently paint her a some sort of villain. 

There’s certainly times when she was mean and diva-like, like many other artists of her generation, but the double standards applied to her and the way she is singled out is not fair.  

If she didn’t have the thick skin she has, she wouldn’t have survived.

If today’s artists endured what she did, a lot of them would have left the business.
