While I wasn't the biggest fan of the more different tone she chose for Love For Sale, I absolutely adored her emoting. Her emoting in Love For Sale gave me Rihanna vibes.

I loved the performance of Do I Love You?. She sounded amazing. Her vocals are definitely healing from the chain smoking she talked about doing after the Joanne era.

INCREDIBLE. Sure, maybe not her most technically impressive performance, but I really liked how she tapped into the improvisational roots of jazz during love for sale!

No-one else does it like her. Stunning performance. Her energy was unreal. She had fun, & I think the audience did too (Billie now stans). She looked so beautiful.

I love how JazzGa leaves half this forum PRESSED every single time. Gaga’s leavin’ dem gurls agitated & I LIVE for the meltdowns.

Her ability / talent to dip into genres & mediums her contemporaries can only dream about certifies her as THE main girl - she’s cementing & crafting her own legend before our very eyes & I honestly feel sorry for some of y’all & how you can’t see it/aren’t into it.

Quoting to spread this absolute GOSPEL :partysick:

I was expecting an emotional tribute...but im glad this was joyful/celebratory. Got scared with that last running repeating note in Do I Love You, but she went through. Love 4 Sale was playful and a crowd pleaser... it feels like an invitation to her Vegas show.

The montage was very nice. People get to see their long wonderful genuine frindship.

That Billie reaction was icing on the cake.

That touch on the shoulder, and second look at the video...Gaga, you really made me feel those.

I love JazzGa but ever since she started Jazz and Piano the way she sings is… all over. I can tell it’s on purpose and I understand the appeal, but it’s not for me. I prefer the way she used to sing jazz, she sounded more rich and steady. But the whole stage, lighting, background collage and her hair and outfit are amazing. It’s very on theme with the album cover which is a nice touch.

I think she started “oversinging” every single one of her songs live the same way Xtina does and I am truly not a fan of it. I really believe she needs to take it down a bit and use her pre ARTPOP tone for singing because that is IMO when she was at her best. Other than that it was a beautiful performance, she looked good, I didn’t like the dress but oh well, the performance made me appreciate Tony much more and I felt really emotional when it ended.

I just wonder, because idk much about technics and stuff... was it a stylistic choice? Or was it nasal ( as in bad )? Personally, I don’t like this tone even though I still can appreciate the performance. Is there a vocal coach on here or something to give a REAL answer on how her voice was and if it was intentional or she’s been having problems. Because to me, her prime is still 2014-2017.

Yeah I mean, she's an icon and will forever be remembered. But her vocal peak was 2014/2015 when she did all those tributes and such.

I get that vocals change over time and majority of the time she is very good, but it sometimes sounds...rough? Forced? Idk the word for it but it sounds less smooth and effortless as it did back then. Not dragging her but you asked for opinions so.

With that said, L4S was pitchy, but Do I Love You was better. Tbh I think she was really just trying not to cry. But even during the L4S show with Tony and some of the live videos from J&P, her voice sounds more strained than in years prior.

That’s jazz. Jazz artists never sing the same song in same way twice. It wasn’t supposed to be performed like in studio, nor she was oversinging. Inflections and improvizations are the base of jazz.

Using the voice as an instrument is one of the main prerogatives in Jazz. And she did it pretty well.

She is not Ella Fitzgerald yet, and she probably never will, but it is still a pleasure to listen to her trying.
